He's 23 years old but already has like 300+ fights. he's been fighting Muay Thai since he was 8. A human brain isn't fully developed until you're around 25. I think rodtang has a pretty damaged brain. Especially when you consider his fighting style.

If he continues to fight like this I'm afraid he will be shown serious sign of CTE by the time he hit 30

Has he really fight 300+? Could be a fake record.

Maybe, maybe not, who knows. I think some fighters took more hits and seemed to be ok

He like to brawl and have a good chin. But he did not get caught too much, so he would be fine in my opinion.

how many fighters have 300+ plus fights by the time at the age of 23? especially with rodtang fighting style.

Thais don't train like westerners/idiots. They do light sparring westerners go 100% and injure themselves in grueling months long training camps before they even fight once. Thais fight every weekend sometimes more they're not racking up concussions in the gym nor do they fight that hard always because they have to fight again soon.

He does trade punches a lot more than most Thais and relies on his chin but still I think his body will break down before his head like most thai fighters. I dont think he has more cte than a professional boxer who's had over a hundred amateur fights, lots of hard sparring and plus the pro fights.

Apparently its pretty rare to find punch drunk nak muays despite their number of fights but it makes sense when you think about how many attacks are directed at the body as opposed to the head. Rodtang might be a different story though. Hows Pornsanae doing these days?

Last time I heard he was wanted for murder or something like that. It was a few months ago

As some sherbros have already mentioned, Thais train very hard but spar very light and technical. Rodtang does like to trade punches but I don’t think I have seen a punch drunk nak Muay.

They also tend to fight at lighter weight classes than Western fighters which somewhat also helps when it comes to CTE. The heavier the weight classes and the worse it gets for the brain.

Genetics also play a role in who is more susceptible to getting CTE. Granted, blows to the head period isn't a great thing for you, but this is a fight sport. Someone else made a good point recently, he isn't full on Bovy or Pornsanae style too.

In boxing sparring has always played a big part in cte. Toney for instance used to spar 12 rounds everyday getting ready for a fight. Muhammad ali used to take big shots in sparring. Other fighters like terry norris and donald curry and the curry brothers were known for having heavy sparring sessions all the time. Most of the above also had a lot of amateur bouts. I also believe genetics play a part. In muay thai damage is more spread all over the body so i don't think rodtang is a particularly high risk of cte.
