Stoked for this card, plenty of good matchups. I think Chico is going to bring a harder fight than many seem to think, but still I can see Endy getting a stoppage in the later rounds or the UD. Lots of question marks with Sacko and Boughanem since (afaik) neither of them have fought under...
I had a feeling he would sign with ONE! Have they said what weight he is doing? He hasn't fought under 150lbs since 2022, but IMO he is way too small to contend with the likes of Marat, Superbon, Chingiz, etc. Would love to see him fight Petchtanong, or hell let him get a crack at Haggerty's KB...
I've been playing around with kicking the wrist in my sparring since I watched that and I've found it to be very effective! I'm a Kickboxer, so I end up working with pressure fighters who keep a tight high guard pretty often. It's perfect for when they attempt to move in with hooks and shift...
As a general rule of thumb, you can safely assume that an MMA fighter would lose to a Muay Thai fighter or Kickboxer in a striking context -- of course, the roles are reversed if you put the strikers in an MMA context. This logic should take care of basically all 'MMA guy vs MT/KB guy' questions.
I am guessing it's just a stay-busy fight so he can be ready to jump in to replace Haggerty or Superlek in the event one of them gets injured prior to their matchup. But yeah, definitely a weak fight.
The "GOAT" MMA striker being a guy whose style disregards most ideas on technique and acquired the majority of his credentials in another sport is fitting. Pereira for MMA striking GOAT
Yep, I think Endy would finish him or pick him apart. To be clear, I don't think Regian is a bad fighter by any means, I've just never seen him match the hype he has always had. I could see him in Glory's top five or top ten at WW for sure
Oh man I think Eersel gets hurt badly by Semeleer; I've always felt like he has been massively overrated. His best wins are from an old Nieky Holzken and catching Dmitry Menshikov with a left in small glove Muay Thai. I felt like he lost to Arian Sadikovic as well, and ofc there is the loss...
I'll have to rewatch the fight, I don't see how Superbon won at all. First two rounds were very close and could go either way, but from there it looked like it was Marat's fight. For every knee Superbon landed, Marat landed at least two or three punches and plenty of low kicks -- on top of his...
For me it's moreso how the name coincidentally aligns with thong underwear and "poon," a slang word for pussy. It's all a part of the hilarious relationship English and Thai have (i.e., ธิติ being pronounced the same as "titty", รพี being pronounced as "raa-pee" but usually written in English as...
Thongpoon PK Saenchai is up there with BinLaden Singmorakot as my favorite Thai fighter names. I remember one of the trainers I worked with at Jitti Gym went by the name "Wifi" and had the wifi symbol tattooed on his chest, one of the craziest guys I have partied and trained with. Makes me wanna...
I am rooting for Boapaeh! I felt like he was beating Wisse before he gassed out (have no clue what those judges were looking at the first two rounds) and IMO he has a real shot at beating him with some more time to sharpen his skills
Not kicking the bag is indeed the plan! I am definitely going to start doing some supplemental exercises -- I watched some kneesovertoesguy videos last night and I think I am going to incorporate some of his stuff on top of the calf and foot exercises. Also, thank you for telling me about...
It was a bit of a loose comparison, I mainly see Ennahachi and Haggerty having similarities in that they have a dynamic, bouncy, movement-oriented style that focuses on using the lead leg for controlling the range and pace of the fight. That's kind of where their similarities end, but I think...
Man I have been rolling my toes on the mat a ton lately, and generally I have a bit less mobility/control of my right foot than I do with my left. You really have me thinking now... I guess I'll take a few weeks off from kicking with the leg outside of shadow boxing and see if it helps. I did...
Hello! I've been having an issue lately where my toes will go numb while kicking the heavy bag with my right leg. I am landing with my shin and my foot isn't really hitting the bag much, however when I am trying to rip it a bit, it'll start feeling cold, then a sort of pins and needles feeling...
