It is dumb. Can't speak for Iran but we, meaning the US, do show a good amount of restraint in terms of collateral damage. Not saying it doesn't happen but in general we do.
True. Their best chance to inflict heavy damage was when we had bases and fobs all over Iraq and Afghanistan. Don't remember seeing or hearing about serious missile countermeasures.

True. I went on a jungle trip a long long time ago and remember it being pretty cool. From what I've heard, crime isn't as bad now since many of their criminals have left the country.
Tough to say. I think for their time each was right choice for superman. If you flip flopped the actor in each other's movies you'd think they both sucked.
