70s Bruce Springsteen or 80s Bruce Springsteen?

70s - that Springsteen wrotes Spirit in the Night.

Two of my favourite songs by Springsteen are Stolen Car and Drive All Night, which I believe we're both recorded in 1980. I know people usually think that 80s Springsteen is typified by a more pop-feel, but I don't think that is wholly true.

I like both.

Not sure which decade but I like the introspective story telling Springsteen and can't stand the "Had a tough day at work, I love you baby" Springsteen.

I love 'em both, but man... The River, Nebraska, BITUSA, Tunnel of love... ignore the "big" 80s style production on those last 2 and that's hard to beat.
