A very long high bridge or a very long tunnel - Which scares you more?

Which scares you more?

Claustrophobic myself, so if one had to be picked it would be the tunnel. But that doesn't bother me too much really. Heights are no problem for me. Love them. I've been skydiving several times, and am trying to get into rock climbing (just can't find the time).

The bridge in most cases

I don't really like the tunnel under the Detroit River in the slightest though and were skipping that bad boy every time.

Never found a tunnel the least bit scary whatsoever. I've had nightmares about bridges though.

Does the bridge collapse incident change your mind?
Why? how often I history has a cargo ship lost power right near a bridges main support pillar . An literally plowed perfectly Into to hit it square on ?

Literally everything g happened perfectly wrong.

Driving g over a beige is many times safer than Flying. If this instance effects anyone's thoughts about driving over a bridge then they lack ability for rational thought. Jmo

The issue we have in many places now is aging infrastructure. We care so much about giving money away for this program and that program, housing and feeding migrants, while we are really facing some serious issues with bridges, tunnels and roadways that are in serious need of repair. Many bridges are over 50 years old, and increased traffic, heavier loads, extreme weather over the years, and budget cuts to regular maintenance has caused stability issues.

Sometimes I dream I’m driving on a bridge and at the highest point instead of proceeding to go down the rest of the way I launch like it was a ramp. Turrible feeling

That thing is what nightmares or made of
Naaaawwwww. Like 26 miles long . Once your on it your committed. 1/2 bridge an 1/2 tunnel. Tunnell part is nuts just 1 lane each way with like 2 feet dividing lanes and cars going like 60 to 80. :)

It used to be a very tall bridge would put the willies in me. Now I cross over a tall bridge every day. I've gotten over that fear. I'm more fearful of the bicyclists on the bridge as they are afraid of being near the edge and ill ride close to the cars.

I've only been through a few long tunnels, and that was when i was a young kid. Didn't care much for that.

Yes but

I find conservatives say this bullshit all the time about what we could have spent that money on....but then when it comes time to spend that money at home on ourselves they call it socialism and scuttle it.

It's true we do need to spend a fortune at home rebuilding our country and investing in our people ...but wish in one hand shit in the other and see which one fills up first. It's difficult to get the right in our country to see this truth. A wall and tax cuts isn't gonna cut it.

Just stop at the give way sign, check left and right for ships and if clear, proceed.

The middle class dealing with inflation are pushed to the brink with taxes. Taxes are high enough. This isn't the right or left problem, it's the pointing fingers at sides all while not solving anything is the issue. I can tell you adding millions of other nations poor that we need to support is not the answer. I also find it amazing the things that BOTH sides try to sneak in on bills that have nothing to do with the bills purpose. Absurd wasteful things, the left is famous for that if you want to go tit for tat.

If you somehow go off path on bridge, you fall a long way. If you stray in tunnel, you're still on the ground.

There's this one freeway here near the airport very high off the ground and if you're unfamiliar with the route and going fast, bad things could happen and I could have swore at least twice or three times a car fell off and hit the ground.

It's not unusual to not be able to see ahead which lane you're supposed to be in and you're going fast, cars around you going fast, another fast car could knock you off and down you go.

I would have said tunnel a couple days ago. But now it is bridge.

It depends. Are you walking or driving. I am not scared to drive through a big bridge. I am terrified of walking on shitty bridges though. I went backpacking when I was younger. I didn't like crossing rural bridges. Some places are just planks and rope. That structure wasn't going to support my big ass.

I am ok with heights when it is structurally sound. I will admit I got angry one time when this brown tourist was stamping his feet hard on the see through glass floor of a cable car. I was like bro please stop trying to jump or shake the cable car.
