Social Asian American rejected from 16/18 colleges despite 4.2 GPA and 1590 SAT score.

You realize that most of the his rejections were from California state schools...which are race blind and have been for years?

The other rejections were from elite out of state schools where a 3.97 GPA and a 1590 SAT are not elite levels for their Comp Sci programs?
It is definitely interesting. I really do wonder how he was rejected from the state schools given that race can’t be factored.

I don’t think that his academics can’t be viewed as elite though.

Either way, AA is bad for our country as a whole in todays world.

Lol@an Asian dude doesnt get accepted to college but gets an offer from one of the largest tech firms in the entire World = leftist racism.

"Allen Koh is CEO of Cardinal Education. Families pay his educational consultants to help students compete against other very well qualified college applicants out there.

Koh is not surprised colleges rejected Zhong's application.

"An Asian male, computer science, the probabilities are Darwinian - much worse than for any other demographic," said Koh.

Koh says there's another possible factor.

"Maybe he had to invest so much of his time into learning computer science as a high school student, he came across as too unidirectional for most universities," said Koh.

Koh says all sciences, including engineering, are extremely competitive.

"All the sciences are much harder to get into. In particular, engineering is much harder to get into than the other majors. This is a general trend for decades. Asians are quite sensitive to this for quite some time. Now, for many reasons, it's getting much much more challenging for Asians to be accepted into competitive STEM programs.," said Koh.

Because the admissions process for STEM is so competitive, Koh said students need to work even harder.

"It's not enough to be excellent in STEM in the course of STEM you want to study. They want to see that you are well-rounded and that you have other pursuits that you also want to take to a high level," said Koh."

An assessment from someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
Ya but that doesn't fit the narrative of the left being racist and or other CTS at play....

Meh schools will reject overqualifed people if they believe that person is using them as a safety school and won't attend loweing their yield(the percentage of accepted students who attend). When admissions accepts someone part of that is calculating how likely they are to actually attend not just how qualified they are. If a perfect student applys to a shitty school they are likely to be rejected unless they reach out and explain they plan to attend if admitted.

In California? Which has been race blind for years? In fact, it's held up as the example of what happens after a state goes race blind.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good victim cry session...
California has been race blind for years? <JagsKiddingMe>
Our governor said he was going to appoint a black woman as senator. And was true to his word. But yeah California is race blind <36>

3.97 / 4.42 and 1590 are absolutely elite. are you suggesting only 4.0 / 4.5 and 1600 is elite?

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Stanley Zhong, 18, is a 2023 graduate of Gunn High School in Palo Alto.

Despite earning 3.97 unweighted and 4.42 weighted GPA, scoring 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT's and founding his own e-signing startup RabbitSign in sophomore year, he was rejected by 16 out of the 18 colleges he applied to.

But shortly after the wave of rejections, he was offered a full-time software engineering role by Google, one of the world's top tech companies.

This is what racism looks like, and it's the left which is cheer leading it on. We all know who the college made room for instead. Any Asian-American who supports today's democrat party is a self hating clown.

Across the board, the Asian Male is the most discriminated against person in the USA.

It's elite, but not unheard of or a prodigy kind of accomplishment. The value of GPA is also heavily contingent on the rigor of the high school. A 1590 means he missed a a couple of questions, with someone who got 1500 maybe missing double that.

You can post whatever nonsense you like. It won't help you or magically give you some semblance of intelligence.

We'll recap your stupidity as many times as you like.

He's trying the old @rob_mafia tactic of replying to your well-sourced evidence by rubbing dogshit all over his face and screaming very loudly. Didn't work out so well for rob though.

Little slow are you?

California has not had Affirmitice Action guidelines for College Admissions for decades. Has nothing to do with Newsome

Maybe Homogeneity Karen should advertise that all Americans should adopt Asian culture.

I do recall plenty of white Nationalists disgusted at the thought of massive Asian immigration for the fear of competing for industry control. I can remember tons of discontent over Indians coming here for Med school for similar reasons.

The problem is when you survey these individuals. The answer you get will be based on whether it effects them directly. If it doesn't the most likely answer will be. "It's a good thing to think about diversity." Mind you, they probably already got their degree and career, so fuck that other Asian who's getting denied opportunities because of racial quotas.

It's so damn easy to champion DEI when you already have your seat at the table of prosperity. But ask yourself to give it up to appease DEI goals and you'll be crying just like everyone else who is being left out.
That poll is super misleading. Those percentages were based on people that knew what Affirmative Action was. Taking everyone into account 76% of Asians were AGAINST race based college admissions.

Of course people see that 54% and run with it but don't actually look at the specifics of the poll. Asians aren't that stupid to be working against themselves (obviously)...

And here is the crazy part. Many of the students who "benefited" from affirmative action end up dropping out because it only resulted in an academic mismatch.

https://eric.ed.gov/?id=EJ737166#:~...on rates,of their nonaffirmative action peers.

The difference in graduation rates is larger, with 57% of affirmative action students graduating compared to 73% of their nonaffirmative action peers.

Plot twist: He fucked up because his personal essay mentioned his Sherdog account.

Also, how does one get one of those over 4.0 GPA's? Shit's gone wild.

I think they get bonus points for taking advanced courses, but I'm not sure.

Someone posted polling #'s one time and apparently the majority of asian americans support this, which is surprising.

Depends where they are polled and how it’s done.
The ones who are already attending a prestigious college will most certainly present themselves as virtuous far leftists.
