Last nights main event disappointed the just bleed gods for sure, but the outcome is actually the best possible one for the UFC. Just look at all the positives they came away with...

#1. Israel got the retain the title, lets not pretend UFC wasnt praying Israel keeps the belt

#2. Neither guy took much damage, you can pretty much book them both to fight next month

#3. Neither guy's stock took a hit, another Romero fight that will be debated forever, but neither guy clearly won neither guy really lost, you can still market Israel as your undefeated champ, you can still market Yoel as the boogyman of the division

People will bitch about the fight for a few days, then they will forget about it and get excited for the next matchup either of these two fighters get.

Izzy vs Costa in May would be nice.

Also this would be a good time to make Romero vs Anderson, epic matchup of personalities at any point in their careers.

WME made sure their New Zealand/Nigerian and Chinese cash-cows were safe

Also their Irish cash cow when they matched him up with Cerrone.

And when Turd Dean allowed at least 14 fouls against Khabib with no point deductions. Khabib beat the entire UFC machine that night, literally in to submission.

Funny how most americans won't back up a fighter as a country, like other countries do for other MMA'ers. Probably has a lot to do with UFC fighters being much much small stars to compared to the legit sports in the US.

This kills the spider
I dont know, even though he has not been winning, he has still managed to preserve his health pretty good in his recent fights.

Ah yes, personalities, the only thing that matters in fight matchmaking.

Never mind that that fight would make last night's look like a barn burner.

If a White American UFC fighter was essentially Conor McGregor in all but name it would happen.

Americans don't move/unite as a unit. We move/unite as sub-units. Black Americans will support Black American stars. So on and so forth for other groups.

Except no one gives a fuck about MMA in the US. It is way behind the big sports and that is the reason.

I can't figure it out either. But make no mistake, Rob Whittaker is way down the list when it comes to our cricketers, Aussie rules players, rugby league players etc, but all aussie MMA fans sure do support him.

It's never going to eclipse major regular sports. It's a fight sport.

After all the shit Adesanya said in the buildup anything other than KO within 3 rounds against 51 years old opponent wouldve been massive fail but instead he gave us the most shamefull performance ever and ran the whole fight

Honestly I don't think it's a race thing.

It kind of is though. But still, it's more of an ethnicity thing when it comes to combat sports.

Look at boxing. Floyd had to get people to hate him for him to get the attention he did, he was actually very cynical discussing this very topic of why Americans didn't back him lol. I know non-Americans don't care but America is very sub-ethnic first in a lot of ways.

Sure, to some level, but white America is/was all onboard with Tyson, Holyfield, etc

American is a nationality not a race that's why.

How come nobody said the same thing when they matched Cerone against Tony?
Because a fighter on a 3 fight win streak is not the same as a fighter on a losing streak, even if it’s the same fighter.

Also no one was gonna ask him to take a dive against Ferg.
