Boxing Discussion VIII

Jeff Horn to be knocked down 1.45 - randall and funeka sat him down if memory serves correct. Fair bit of juice though so not sure ill play it yet. Hoping KO odds drift out to + money. Also hoping Aussies smash Jeffs odds in so TC ML gets out to 1.30+

What bookies do you guys likefor livebetting boxing and boxing in general? I would really like to but I can't register to marathonbet and bet365 because my country is restricted. I'm already using Betway, William Hill, Betsafe and Betfair Exchange (sportsbook limited to pennies so can;t LB there).

Is Ladbrokes, PaddyPower or Coral any good or what do you guys recommend?

Ladbrokes has some decent LB especially for big fights and UK cards.
Betfair is the same as Paddypower I think. Coral is the same as Ladbrokes.

I'd say bet365 are the best though...They were throwing gifts last night and they are usually the only ones that give props to some fights (e.g. decision/ko props for Wlad/Durodola pre-fight)

Yeah I know about bet365, such a shame I can't register there. I hope the law on online gambling in the Netherlands will change soon, but they've been working on that for years so who knows how long that will take.

I registered on Ladbrokes and will give that a go, thanks!

If anyone else has any other recommendations, I would love to hear them.

Bet365 really are the kings for LB, offer some ridiculously off lines at times where you can make serious profit.

I know people hate touts etc, I fully get some of the reasons why and I'm 100% all for being a community on here, some great discussion and knowledgeable guys. But when I get my site fully online and set up I'm thinking of a small "donation" type system. I'll have full breakdowns off all fights I'm betting, the reasoning etc and it'll be as in depth as I have ever done. I see some guys for MMA and Boxing charging people into the hundreds sometimes even just for 1 card or 1 pick and not offering a whole lot of insight. I'm looking at maybe £5 monthly for all the breakdowns etc, of course I'd still post free plays too and would never shy away from posting here and going all secretive about it all but I think something like £5 for a months worth of picks and breakdowns is incredibly fair with the effort that goes into it.

Like I say, just an idea and I know everyone hates touts but if you followed my bets this weekend, a £5 1 month subscription would be paid off within seconds. Site isn't live yet but it's looking a lot better now.

Hope everyone had a very profitable weekend. :)

if anyone is thinking about taking crawford decision or the over this might tell you the mindset of terrance crawford if he has never used horsehair before.

horn was apparantly cut in sparring as of late but there are no photos. he was also cut in sparring before his fight with euro corcoran which opened up later in the fight. badly cut against paq as well.

i think jeff horn has bad skin and this will eventually lead to a stoppage, probably in rounds 6-12, the australian is a tough guy but i see this fight as a watered down version of gatti/mayweather.

you should start a forum similar to this, private with a monthly fee, where people dont have to deal with dipshits.

like most on the boxing forum i rarely post on the mma or non-mma betting threads anymore because of said dipshits.

some serious psychopaths here on sherdog

I completely would, just not really sure how to go about creating a forum etc.

Self learning the site making and it's going well, I feel it's a solid way to go about it but if I can incorporate some sort of forum into the site I'll certainly look into doing that, or at least some sort of private chatting platform for subscribers as I think that would be hugely beneficial.

Yeah a private chat of some kind would be awesome.

imo, the chat is the most important aspect, you need input from other people without criticism or someone pulling out their dick, things that you might have missed.

i see some people here post bets after the fact that had a viable angle that i wish i wouldve known about beforehand, my guess, they dont want to post in the event the bet loses and then have to deal with the joseph buddens

a private forum, that problem wouldnt exist

Yeah I wish there was another site like bet365 that I'm allowed to register to, shit really makes me angry, but I've to make things work with what I got I guess.

Incorporating BBPress into my site would allow me to create a forum for members only which would be great, but I'd definitely start with a Discord first for paying members before the forum as I'd have to upgrade my site again and pay more to incorporate the forum.

I intend to play it out for a few months with some paying members and a discord, see how it goes and if it takes off well then open up a forum with the help of a friend who is a web designer and go about it that way, which I think would be hugely beneficial.

Was happy to see the forum on Clavero, I had him to win 2.5u

I’m already on Matthysse +165 as I think he’s going to get PAC out of there. Good luck with having your fat friend as your trainer instead of Roach.

And I think Crawford knocks out Horn, if PAC still had the killer instinct he would’ve gotten Jeff out of there last year.

Upping my units to £50 and what's the best than inaugurate with a stupidly juiced parlay?

1u on Gorman, Okolie, Flanangan, Cheese, CM Punk @ 5.052.
Gorman and Okolie are almost playable at around 1.20 at Marathon I feel...

I think Crawford is totally gonna school Horn. Horn was knocked down by Funeka and Bailey not long ago. Plus the mentioned skin problems.
There are levels to this shit and I'm not sold even on the size advantage of Horn. Crawford has fought bigger guys than Horn - Molina, Postol and dealt just fine with it.
Horn is so overrated after a controversial decision vs Pacquiao and a win over Gary "nobody" Corcoran.

Crawford ITD @ 1.72 looks like a very good bet... took 0.7u of that.
0.5u Crawford TKO @ 2.25

Fucking limits. Will try to get more down.
Edit: And 1u Horn to be knocked down @ 1.44

Betfair line for Crawford ITD got smashed down to 1.57.

Added 0.5u more on fight to end via TKO @ 2.00

I am going heavy (for me) on Crawford by KO. Both straight up and parlaying it with Holm. I just think Horn is completely out of his league here. Crawford is being undervalued to win by KO because hes seen as a smaller fighter, but the skill factor is too big.

Is Betfair legal in US? Bovada is horrible for boxing. I'm not getting half of the bets you guys get and the props dont come out until a few days before the fight at best...

5dimes is out of the question for me as they have caused several fraud charges on my CC.

What books are best for boxing that I can access from the states?

if crawford is gonna ko horn hes gonna have to go to the body

horn is tough with great conditioning and recovery power and leaves the pocket at an angle and quickly so but i noticed in the pac fight that he felt a pac body shot but pac didnt go downstairs enough after that, particularly when he had him hurt in round 9.

but i do feel horn is open for that idongo style body shot ko crawford delivered when horn lunges in with attacks.

lookin at footage of watkins he should get koed by okolie but ill look into this a bit more

and a question....any suspicion that the bookies monitor this forum and adjust their lines according to the opinion here? i guess the traders set the odds, then they automatically adjust according to money wagered but just wondering if you guys have voiced an opinion and they have adjusted the odds. i do know someone who works for a betting site and he said the traders sometimes use articles as part of their process to set odds. i imagine a ton of it is one group of traders setting the odds and the other sites or traders within those sites tailing
