Let's say someone has a 10 % win rate (for every 100 bucks bet, he gets 110 bucks back)
It's not my case obviously.
But just curious how bookies deal with this.
Do they ban you? Is it even legal?

I am not the best gambler but I can go on big losing streaks on bovada and then I win like 5 or 6 games or fights in a row with an avg bet of lets say 100$ I will get badly limited to where even if I wanted to I couldnt bet more then 250$ unless I got it approved. I hear of vegas sportsbook banning people from gambling in there sportsbook cuz they win to often but I highly doubt thats true people like to lie alot on there betting habits on how much they bet win or lose. Like the guy on here said he has been buying bitcoin since 2009 when it was 0.03 for 1 coin lol sure buddy

Yes, you can get banned for winning too much. It's the biggest problem full time sports betters have, getting accounts limited and shut down.

If the book believes you truly have an edge, then why would they ban you? Makes more sense for them to structure their lines in a way that they profit on the information that your bets provide.

Some of the bigger, more serious books take that attitude and welcome sharp action. Not many though. Most of the others prefer recreational players and suckers and they make a fortune mitigating their risk by limiting or banning winning players.

I don't think they can outright ban you but they can limit your bets to the point that you aren't making anything beyond recreational money. Take a few thousand into a sports book in Vegas and ask to make some big parleys. Most likely they will limit you in some way. They also will require you to sign up for a players club card which requires you to show an ID and give them all of your information. They made a copy of my drivers license when I made a $3k bet at the Hard Rock Hotel a couple years ago.

On the other hand- right now with the economy in the tank and Vegas being closed, perhaps next month they will be so desperate for big bettors that they will take any and all action without limits. IDK. A lot of that is decided by the sports book manager.

My first bet nate tate parlay got me limitted but you can still make money if you figure a away

I do not known if they ban you for winning too much since I am not a big winner. But they ban and limit you if you just winning as little as $50 a week on them playing only 1 specific sports.

In order to avoid being ban or limit, you have to play several different sports, play their casino, show reckless gambling than you are good with them.

You get limited on the market you excel at on most online bookies.

That is exactly what Ladbrokes said to me, I am ban from mma bet but other market still open for me. So yeah, any sport you profit from (doesn't have to be huge amount), you get limited to an happy meal or ban.

It just really depends on the sports book. I know of one sports book hours outside of Reno that would let me parley just about anything and didn't require a players club card even for over $1000 bet. The Wynn and Hard Rock in Vegas have both limited my bets to $150 on parleys.

If you want to bet a large amount you need to spend a full day in Vegas (or Reno, Atlantic City, etc) and visit many casinos to find out their policies. Ask questions and read the rules that are posted and if you don't like the policies be confident enough to walk out without betting anything.

What happens to the money in the account if it gets shut down?
