It is crazy how many Canadian these days are trying to get Indigenous cred because they are 1/16th native (or at least claim to be). I had a friend in University who learned he was 1/16th native and he actually joined some Indigenous group at the school. The funny thing is everyone else looked just as white as he did.

I saw a native fishing in the Salt river in Arizona one time and he looked a lot more native than most Canadian natives.

But even most people who some might think look completely native are often only half. For example, Zahn McClarnon is half Irish.

Natives who look like the photos from 130 years ago are basically nonexistent. Most "natives" in Canada look (and are) mostly white. It's to the point that some dark featured white people get mistaken for being native. Several people I grew up with were 100% white, but people thought were native just because they were dark featured and slightly exotic looking.
