"A federal grand jury returned a superseding indictment against Taylor Taranto, who as NBC News reported was first identified by online sleuths back in 2021, but wasn't arrested until June 2023 when he showed up near Obama's home.

Three of the new charges relate to guns and ammunition that were allegedly found in Taranto's van when he was arrested. Taranto also faces a felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding for his conduct on Jan. 6. He also faces a charge of false information and hoaxes for allegedly falsely threatening that he was going to set off an explosive at the National Institute of Standards and Technology before his eventual arrest.

After he was identified by online “sedition hunters but before his arrest, Taranto and another man, David Walls-Kaufman, were sued by the widow of the late Officer Jeffrey Smith. Smith was assaulted on Jan. 6 and died by suicide days after the Capitol attack. His death was ruled to have occurred in the line of duty.

Taranto reposted Trump's post on his own Truth Social account, prosecutors said, and then posted about being outside the residence that same day.

“We got these losers surrounded!" Taranto posted on Telegram, according to prosecutors. "See you in hell, Podesta’s and Obama’s."

Taranto was eventually apprehended near Rock Creek Parkway after lingering in the woods near Obama's home while livestreaming."

New Jersey man who wore name, phone number on jacket arrested on Capitol riot charges

WASHINGTON — A New Jersey man who wore a jacket with his last name and company phone number on it to the U.S. Capitol was arrested this week on charges related to the Jan. 6 riot.

Robert Coppotelli, of Toms River, was charged Friday with four misdemeanor counts for allegedly unlawfully entering the Capitol through the Senate Wing Door approximately 10 minutes after the first breach of the building. According to charging documents, Coppotelli walked through the building to the Crypt and then exited by climbing out of a broken window roughly 12 minutes after he entered.

Federal investigators said they received a tip in July 2021 identifying Coppotelli inside the Capitol thanks to a work jacket he was wearing with a “Coppotelli Heavy Equipment Sales & Services” logo and the phone number of the business. They determined Coppotelli lived at the same address in News Jersey as the registered address of the business.

Court documents show Coppotelli was arrested Wednesday in D.C. He was assigned to make an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia M. Faruqui in D.C. District Court.

Last month, U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves urged the public to continue helping federal investigator identify suspects in the ongoing Jan. 6 investigation. Graves said his department was still seeking in particular to identify roughly 80 individuals believed to have assaulted police during the riot.

In the 37 months since the Capitol riot, more than 1,300 filthy magats have been charged with crimes ranging from entering a restricted area to seditious conspiracy. Approximately 900 defendants have now pleaded guilty or been convicted at trial just to own the libs.

these people are literally fucking retarded. dumbest in the country.

MAGA Trash Capitol rioter whose son turned him in gets dumpstered. Sentenced to 33 months in prison just to own the libs

bfuPcKe.jpeg

“You’re obviously someone who likes to play stupid games and win stupid prizes," a federal judge implied after Brian Mock asked for more time behind bars than his defense attorney suggested. "Fuck around and find out!"

giphy.gif

A Capitol rioter whose son turned him in to the FBI was sentenced to nearly three years in prison on Thursday — after asking the judge for a longer sentence than the one recommended by his own attorney — for his role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021

Brian Mock, 44, traveled from Minnesota to Washington, where he engaged in four separate assaults against Capitol police officers in what prosecutors called a “5-minute frenzy.”

In a sentencing memorandum, defense attorney Michelle Peterson asked for a sentence between 24 and 30 months in prison, minus the 11 months Mock spent in pretrial detention. Peterson, a federal public defender from Washington, noted that Mock’s conduct was much less serious than that of other rioters, many of whom received sentences well below the 109 months the government wanted Mock to serve.

Mock on Thursday asked Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg show him that same leniency — but suggested a sentence above what Peterson had recommended, requesting between 30 and 36 months in prison.

The judge noted how unusual it was to hear a defendant ask for more time behind bars. He emphasized that he thought 33 months was appropriate, due in part to Mock’s less serious assaults and clear desire to remedy his actions.

“You’re obviously someone who likes to stir things up and get a reaction out of people … but whether you wanted to spur people to violence, I think it’s more of the former than latter,” Boasberg said.

Judge Boasberg, a Barack Obama appointee, noted that he felt quite familiar with Mock at that point after he represented himself during the bench trial, meaning Boasberg spoke with Mock directly throughout the proceedings, rather than with his attorney.

But as he passed down the 33-month sentence, which was well below the 9 years the Justice Department had requested, he said it was difficult to square the man he had come to know in the courtroom with the one at the Capitol that day.

“You came expecting violence … it’s hard to think of you as a bystander,” Boasberg said. “But I don’t think your intent when you left Minnesota was to overthrow the government.”

Speaking before the court, Mock admitted he “screwed up” but made an effort to justify his actions, describing the crowd that day as peaceful before the police attacked and saying he merely “reacted and reacted wrong.”

He said he was convinced to come to Washington by GOP politicians besides Donald Trump who spread false claims about election fraud in 2020 — without them he would not have come.

The judge, agreeing, said many politicians “should be ashamed of themselves for spreading these lies.”

In the weeks following the 2020 election, Mock frequently made inflammatory posts on social media, calling for “millions of armed citizens” to rise up and for “total rebellion." Before leaving for the capital, Mock told his eldest son, A.J. Mock, to watch over the house and mentioned that he might not come back.

Throughout his statement on Thursday, Mock made repeated references to a New York Times article that highlighted his and his son A.J.’s relationship in the time since he was turned into the FBI, arrested and since returned home.

In the article, A.J. described how he saw a news alert seeking help to identify hundreds of rioters one day at work, and scrolled until he found his father, No. 298, on the list. After returning home, he identified Brian Mock in an email to the FBI and told agents his father had been “bragging about beating up cops and destroying property.”

Brian Mock said he agreed to participate in the article only because his son wanted to, but that he felt it was a step toward reconciling the partisan divide that seems to only be widening.

Boasberg convicted Mock on 11 counts in July 2023, following a bench trial: obstruction of an official proceeding, civil disorder, assaulting officers, assaulting officers with a dangerous weapon, theft of government property, engaging in violence on Capitol grounds, entering restricted grounds and disorderly conduct with a dangerous weapon.

Federal prosecutors say Mock attacked four Capitol Police officers across the West Plaza in a five-minute period. He pushed and tried to kick an officer on the ground, threw a broken flagpole at a line of officers and shoved a distracted officer, causing him to fall over a step behind him.

After his frenzy, Mock found a police baton and began “stalk[ing] the West Plaza looking for more trouble,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Gordon said on Thursday.

Mock contested at trial that he had kicked the first officer on the ground, and said he thought the last officer was going for his gun to explain why he shoved him. He did not enter the Capitol itself.

In the 37 months since Jan. 6, 2021, over 1,313 people have been charged in connection to the Capitol riot. Approximately 490 have been sentenced to periods of incarceration.

33 months on top of the 11 months he's already served in jail. suck on that libtards!

'I willfully ruined my life': Jacksonville magat sentenced to 30 months just to own the libs

DODTITWY2FAUNGG6WWVTVRWG3I.jpg

@Lucas1980

A Jacksonville magat who called the riot at the U.S. Capitol his “rowdiest” experience was sentenced to federal prison Friday after expressing shame for struggling with a female police officer.

“I am devastated that I am guilty of assaulting a female officer, but these are my actions,” Daniel Paul Gray, 43, wrote in a letter to U.S. District Court Senior Judge Amy Berman Jackson, who ordered Gray to spend 30 months behind bars.

Sentencing guidelines suggested a term of 41 to 51 months, and a prosecutor asked for the full time, saying Gray’s conduct during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot “embodies a total disrespect for the law.”

Gray pleaded guilty in October to obstructing an official proceeding and assaulting, resisting or impeding government officers — the police who tried to keep supporters of an orange election-losing fraudster and rapist from overrunning the Capitol.

The female officer he acknowledged struggling with fell down a set of stairs and was treated later for a pinched nerve, although Gray’s public defender included police body-camera images in a sentencing memo to argue that Gray had stepped away from her and “another individual was likely the cause of the fall.”

The riot shut down the Capitol for a few hours and briefly kept Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election. During and after the riot, both police and rioters were among several deaths attributed to either medical emergencies, police gunfire or suicide.

Gray, a former mixed martial arts fighter and instructor, told the judge he had thrust himself into the turmoil at the Capitol after a time of despair where he had become self-destructive and invited danger.

“On January 6th the police would have been well within their rights to shoot me. I can confidently say that I have no one to blame but myself for my actions,” he wrote. “… I willfully ruined my life and this is all my fault.”

Gray wrote that he had put the 2020 election behind him and developed positive relationships that helped focus him on rebuilding his life. His pastor at a Beaches church wrote a touching letter of support, expressing his thoughts and prayers to the convicted heap of maga trash.

Pilot Mountain magat found guilty of charges related to Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection after filming videos for Facebook; wife previously sentenced

@Lucas1980

A North Carolina heap of maga trash was found guilty on Wednesday of felony and misdemeanor charges related to the the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, according to the United States Attorneys Office for the Middle District of North Carolina.

His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.

Christopher Raphael Spencer, 43, of Pilot Mountain, was convicted of:
  • felony obstruction of an official proceeding
  • misdemeanor offenses of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds
  • disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds,
  • disorderly conduct in a Capitol building
  • parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building

Spencer was convicted following a stipulated bench trial in front of U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly.

Spencer will be sentenced at a later date.

According to the government’s stipulated evidence, Spencer and his wife, Virginia Marie “Jenny” Spencer, traveled from Pilot Mountain to Washington, D.C., to see the former president on Jan. 6, 2021.

At some time during the day, the couple walked to the U.S. Capitol building and into the restricted permitter of the Capitol grounds, bypassing bike rack barricades.

The couple made their way into a crowd of rioters gathered near the inauguration stage on the west side of the Capitol building. The two watched as rioters attacked police and climbed the walls of the Capitol and the Inauguration stage scaffolding.

The couple then went up the stairs underneath the scaffolding to the northwest terrace near the Senate Wing of the Capitol.

Around 2:19 p.m., the Spencers went inside the Capitol building through the Senate Wing Door. The couple then made their way into the crypt and watched as rioters clashed with police.

Christopher filmed a Facebook Live video and urged rioters to “Don’t stop!” in relation to a fight with police.

The two then made their way to the second floor and went briefly into the hallway offices of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Christopher again recorded a Facebook Live video in which he said, “Where’s Nancy’s office?”

The couple then made their way to the House Chamber and Christopher recorded a video.

He said “Kick that (expletive) open!” in reference to the House Chamber door. In another video, Christopher yelled, “Smile, (expletive), smile (expletive), (expletive) traitor!” at United States Capitol officers who were involved in a fight with a rioter.

The couple spent around 30 minutes inside the Capitol. The FBI arrested the couple on Feb. 8, 2021, in North Carolina.

Virginia was previously sentenced to 90 days incarceration for her role in the matter.

This case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Department of Justice National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section.

Assistance was provided by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of North Carolina.

The case was investigated by the FBI’s Charlotte and Washington Field Offices. The U.S. Capitol police and the Metropolitan Police Department provided assistance.

In the 37 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,313 people have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 469 people charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, which is a felony.

The investigation is ongoing.

i dont know how many times i need to mention this, but once again people, don't post your crimes to facebook. it's just not a smart thing to do.

Texas rep presents convicted Jan. 6 rioter with flag from US Capitol

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) presented a flag from the U.S. Capitol on Friday to Simone Gold, who was sentenced to 60 days in prison for her actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.

that flag is worth a few dollars on the market. he's giving aid or comfort to insurrectionists. that clearly goes against section 3 of the 14'th amendment of the US constitution. gohmert needs to be removed and barred from office. but he won't. because there is no accountability in the party of accountability.

North Texas magat sentenced to prison for shoving officer at Jan. 6 Capitol riot

farris-composite.jpg

@Lucas1980

A heap of North Texas MAGA trash was sentenced to prison for shoving a police officer and attempting to break a window during the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Columbia announced in a news release Friday.

Jason Farris, 45, of Arlington, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 24 months of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson. He pleaded guilty on Oct. 27, 2023 to assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers.

Farris traveled from Dallas to Washington, D.C., to attend the “Stop the Steal” rally, according to court documents. After the rally, he marched with a group of protesters to the Capitol. Farris advanced to the front of a mob of rioters and confronted a group of police officers assembled in a line. He said to the officers, “I bet your family is proud of you, [expletive]. You ain’t [expletive]. Ain’t none of you [expletive],” according to court documents.

He also hit a baton held by one of the officers, documents say.

Moments later, other rioters grabbed one of the metal bicycle racks being used by police and attempted to pull it away. Several officers held onto the bicycle rack to keep it from the rioters. Farris approached an officer from behind and shoved him to the ground, according to the release. The officer fell and released the rack, allowing rioters to take it into the crowd. After the officer was helped up, someone in the crowd threw a large metal beam, hitting the officer in the head. The impact knocked the officer to the ground, causing a concussion, according to the release.

Farris “helped to create” a gap between rioters and police, allowing rioters to enter the west plaza of the Capitol, the release says.

As he traveled further into the Capitol grounds with the mob, Farris used a flagpole to hit a window of the Capitol several times in an effort to break it, according to the release.

He was arrested on Feb. 6, 2023 in Arlington.

In the 37 months since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,300 people have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the Capitol, including more than 470 charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, a felony.
