most of the insurrectionists are pleading guilty and accepting plea deals and they havent assaulted police or destroyed or stolen any property. this fine heap of maga trash decided to beat up a bunch of cops and then roll the dice on a jury trial. you tend to wind up with much stiffer sentences and penalties if you take it to trial and get convicted instead of just pleading guilty.

these guys are fucking idiots if they don't think they're going to be convicted of their crimes like everybody else has been so far. they must think they are special. oh they are special alright, but being fucked in the head and putting on a maga hat and worshipping a rapey orange fraudster doesn't make you exempt from the law.

Im not disagreeing about the sentence. I was just wondering why he got such a high fine where everyone else seemed to get less then even 10% of what he got. But if it was because he let a Jury decide his fine, then goodfuckim.gif

though he assaulted police so i guess he figures what does he have to lose? he knows gonna be heading to prison if he's convicted either way so maybe he thought he'd be able to luck out somehow with a trial and somehow get exonerated through some kind of a hail mary or some shit. his lawyer obviously didn't give two fucks about him to give him the right advice. it was probably a public defender anyways.

i really don't know whats going on in their mind when it comes to making their decisions. especially when they see everyone else before them either taking their pleas or being found guilty. it's not like theyre going to pull a rabbit out of a hat here when virtually everybody else is getting convicted. if they did the crime they may as well just plead out. it's not like zesto molesto and tucker carlson are going to come to their rescue.

"A Virginia man who admitted to entering the U.S. Capitol during the riot on January 6, 2021, has asked a court to enter a default judgment against CNN after suing the network for defamation.

Hiles sued CNN last year, alleging the network defamed him in an article published on October 15, 2021, with the headline: "US Capitol Police officer indicted on obstruction of justice charges in connection with January 6."

The article's focus later shifts to Hiles, with a subheading that says: "Man wanted to start 'a revolution' on January 6." According to an FBI affidavit, Hiles posted numerous videos and photos on his Facebook page on the day supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building.


The posts included a selfie he posted that morning with the caption: "Feelin cute...might start a revolution later."

Hiles' lawsuit alleged that the subheading and the article's contents were defamatory because "they falsely accuse Hiles of felonious criminal activity of which he was not charged or convicted, either directly or indirectly."

Hiles was initially seeking $37 million in compensatory damages but is now seeking $100 million."

The January 6 Committee refused to hear certain witnesses, to follow any line of questioning that veered away from attacking Trump or his followers, and if some information came up that hurt their cause, I can see these scumbags trying to hide it, even though they were required to share it all.
