Dana White's Contender Series - Season 6, Week 2 - August 2nd

Carlos Felipe is in that camp too, Suzart is much more like him than Jailton.

I know.

Those odds (+2000) just seem high for a Brazillian going up against a professional boxer who gives up his back to get up, even if that Brazillian has shown almost no offensive grappling ability.

Should be a good, albeit short, fight either way.

I can't bet it, but looking at best fight odds I think 4.25 on Waldo decision is okay. He should handily outwork Suzart, but he looks like he's one of those stout iron chinned Brazilians to me.

Well I cleaned up at the poker table today so put more down on these fights than I was planning. Esp considering I don't follow these guys at all so I'm blind tailing from what I've read in this thread LOL. I just needed some action tonight. I hope you guys are right about the value on this Smotrisky dude. He's my biggest play by far, including in a few parlays. Although of course I probably have worse odds than most of you since he was down to +145 by the time I bet him today.

Danilo Suzart by submission is +2000. I strongly believe Waldo Cortes-Acosta is going to defeat him, but if there is any way Suzart is going to defeat former professional boxer Acosta it is probably going to be by submission.

Suzart is a main training partner of Jailton Almeida, a UFC LHW/HW grappling specialist, who was campaigning for him to be on DWCS before he even made his UFC debut.

If you watch Suzart's last fight (it's on YouTube), any thoughts of him possibly winning via submission will be instantly erased from your brain.

I've seen Suzart's ARES fight a few times and not a single time did I come away thinking he had won.

His opponent in that fight, Benjamin Sehic, is a massive BJJ guy that doesn't have any striking. I don't expect Suzart to fight Cortes-Acosta, the professional boxer, the same way he fought Sehic the grappler.

I don't expect Suzart to sub Cortes-Acosta, or even attempt to take him down, but at +2000 the prop is mispriced

I agree with @Hellowhosthat that Cortes-Acosta DEC (+350) is a better play given the durability of Suzart which we saw on full display in his last fight.

I would be confident too if they kept feeding me cans for all 5 of my pro fights and they all just fell apart in under 2 minutes. In fact I would feel like Jon Jones.

I hear you and that's why I'm not going hard on it. But I do put stock in someone like that having years of training with Lauzon & co. There's a difference between that and a local gym guy destroying the cans. He at least knows what it's like to tangle with someone actually good.

Starts at 8 eastern?

Shimon needs to preserve his gas .

fk low iq idiot.

thought i was gonna cash that ml and +600 ko, instead he gasses out after 3 mins. feels disgusting

Yeah... glad I didn't go hard on that one. Felt like Shimon was the right pick but there wasn't enough for confidence

Welp, now I'm just looking to break even with the Waldo/Marshall/Ross parlay. If I hit that, it'll be two weeks in a row just breaking even on Contender series, lol.
