The law originally allowed anyone to challenge books as many times as they want, which of course was a stupid idea rife for abuse. And was so broad that you could classify the Bible, dictionaries, and many classic books as inappropriate for children. The Bible has rape, murder and incest in it.

What a fuckin' dumb-dumb.

“The idea that someone can use the parents rights and the curriculum transparency to start objecting to every single book to try to make a mockery of this is just wrong,” DeSantis said the day before the bill signing. “That’s performative. That’s political.”

The whole thing was performative and political.

"But they're trying to nonsensically ban books!" cried the idiot that nonsensically tried to ban books.

Demote this idiot.

What an evil man for not wanting 3rd grade and younger kids to be reading books depicting blowjobs and molestation.

Book ban laws weren't necessary when everyone other than pedos thought kids reading books depicting blowjobs and molestation was bad. Now that we have a large swath of the country saying that it's educational and good for them, we need politicians to overstep boundaries that never needed to be overstepped in the past in order to protect children from creeps.

Hardly a cave. Just brushing up on the law now that the loopholes for left wing abuse have been exposed

Leftists have been flagging books and then claiming “republicans want to ban Anne Franke or even the Bible and this law allows it”. Obviously, republicans don’t want to ban Anne Frank or the laundry list of classic books everybody read in school…the law is obviously intended for recent democrat imposed gay porn and race hustling books. The law should’ve been more clear on that.

No books are being banned. Books inappropriate for children shouldnt be available for children in children spaces. A movie being rated R doesn’t make it a banned movie.

Is it the left wing position that all literature should be in a children library or any system intended for children? ALL literature?

Who could have predicted the exact thing that everyone predicted?

Naturally they muddy the waters cause they can't justify kids having access to books about anal sex

Lol@claiming muddying of waters by people who cannot distinguish a book depicting a personal account of a sexual assault, or a single account of a sexual experience from being "a book about anal sex." And people who cant distinguish 3rd graders from 7th graders.

You puritans are hilarious. I entered middle school in 1991, IN Florida, and girls were constantly getting sexually harassed and touched by boys, who constantly were saying sexual sh*t even among each other. But God forbid they're actually educated on what all that means or what effects it could have. Think of the children!!
