Doo Ho Choi vs Cub Swanson was the original BMF Matchup

It was an amazing fight, so entertaining and fun.

He got KO'd twice then did his military service. He came back last year and got a draw. Interestingly his last opponent has won 3 fights since then while he hasnt done anything.

Exciting fight for sure.

But this fight shows how far these 2 fighters are to be the best fighters in the world. They lack fight IQ and defense. Blindly attacking just doesnt cut it.

Lol Cub was a top 10 fighter and one of the best strikers in the division at the time.

Cub was ranked 5th at the time but funny enough he was like 1-7 against that top 10 at the time. He usually lost important fights exclusively.

He had that fantastic highlight reel KO run of George Roop, Ross Pearson, and Charles Oliveira. Then he beat Dustin Poirier, Dennis Siver and Jeremy Stephens.

His main flaw was always his sub defense, which was exposed by Edgar and then he ran into an unstoppable Max.

And no, no modern-ish era fighter was the original BMF'er.

That title belongs to Tank Abbott. The original BMF, back when UFC had a limited ruleset and champions were determined based off the one night tournament format.

Who did Choi beat to be considered for a BMF belt. More like contender for fight of the year ect. BMF is a mix between ranking relevance, populairty and warrior spirit. It's gotta be some top 5 epic guys.

Im saying he shouldve been considered along with Swanson for honorary recognition
