Media Draymond Green lands spinning attack in NBA game: A-Level athlete with MMA potential?

Haha. You’re right tho about Wallace. That was just about the end of the best era in the NBA where guys would actually bang and play physical basketball without flopping.
Even Shaq threw punches out there at times. The old gaurd say they don't recognize the game anymore. It's all 3 pointers, no defense, and flopping.

People forget Jordan starting lifting weights because the Pistons beat the shit out of him.

Some of the Pistons and Celtic playoff games were insane. Good times.

Basing hypothetical fighting skills on how well people play ball sports is hilarious. And your comment about couldn’t hack it making millions dollars a year playing real sports is your measuring stick? Gymnasts are probably the best athletes in the world and they barely make living wages.

Aren’t you getting tired of these could’ve should’ve would’ve threads? I get that they’re athletic, and so are world-class ping-pong players. They have great speed, hand eye coordination and foot work just like you said with the basketball player example. On the same token do you feel that professional ping-pong players would make amazing fighters?

If you’ve never seen people fight how do you know they make great fighters? It’s all hypothetical.

Let’s not pretend a guy like LeBron would be a great fighter either, and that the only thing holding him back his his big paycheque lol. He’s one of the biggest pu**ies out all of professional sports!
It stupid as fuck to think that no person in major sports couldn't be UFC champ if they choose otherwise, or hell with a few years training (look at Ngannou). Every time this topic comes up, you got the stupid shertards who thinks no pro sport player could ever become a fighter. Like the only people who can be a fighter, are those who don't have the skills to make it in these other sports making millions of dollars. So yes I'm making fun of those stupidos and their stupid logic.

And then you double down on this stupid take by saying that Lebron couldn't ever be a good fighter. LMAO Lebron would whoop your fuckin ass with the ease, I'm 100% sure of that. Not to mention that if Lebron chose to go MMA out of high school instead of making millions immediately in the NBA, he absolutely could have been a great fighter. But generally speaking, those who make it as a pro, usually are bigger, stronger, and faster than those who couldn't. So physically, these pro's have a better starting base than the others. Thats why the MW-HW divisions are so weak bc most of those big men are making millions in other sports instead of the peanuts with the UFC.

And to further prove my point, look who knocked the fuck out of Fedor, who is considered the HW goat. A fuckin washed out NFLer with minimum training. Ok, don't think Fedor is the goat, well look at Stipe who couldn't hack it in MLB (college baseballer). Plenty examples across the board like this. So to think that pro sport players couldn't be great fighters is such a retarded take.

Lol! Shoulda, woulda, coulda ! You sound exactly like one of those nerds that talks about how they shoulda ,woulda, coulda hooked up with girl at a party/club. But didn’t!!!
There’s always Wheatie eating ,NFL pyjama wearing Sherbro’s like you!

It’s hilarious with the constant arguments on this forum with people exactly like you!

The same old example with LeBron being an amazing fighter! If he felt like it! And the only thing holding him back is the multi million dollar sport he wanted to play. What a joke!

By your own logic Michael Jordan would’ve been an amazing baseball player based on how well he plays basketball!

Until you see one of these p*ssies (basketball players) actually fight somebody just stop posting hypothetical bullshit on the forum.
Let’s talk about real fights and real fighters instead of having these “my dad can beat up your dad” hypothetical style arguments!

See there you go with that retard logic. Funny how you think the only good fighters can be people who couldn't make millions a year playing a real sport. As if having elite reflexes don't translate to the fight game, lol. Guess that why Mitirone knocked out the goat Fedor, or why Stipe is the UFC HW goat who couldn't hack it in MLB. Jon Jones both brothers are NFL studs but according to you they would never be great at fighting. Which Jon went the opposite route (mma over football) and is considered the goat of mma, which further proves my point. Its not like Chandler or Arthur couldn't have succeeded in MMA like their bro Jon if they went a different route instead of making millions in the NFL.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Bones is the only one as he’s actually proved it

You basing someone’s hypothetical success as a fighter on how they play ball sports especially baseball is hilarious.

Let’s talk about people that actually fight! Not some fairytale you dream about in your head.

Exactly. Why would they ever try mma when they can make millions as 18 years playing football or other sports. Guess the only people who can fight are those who weren't good enough to make millions playing the real sports. Guess real fighters only want those peanuts and reebok coupons.

Quit acting like it’s the millions of dollars that are holding his hypothetical tough guys at bay.

They’re doing their own thing throwing a ball and running around with one! They’d probably be flattered that there’s wheaties eating fan boys out there defending them on an MMA forum somewhere!

You’re getting things skewed. They don’t have the testicular fortitude for fighting anyway

18 year olds are literally making millions in college. So why would any top athlete go to mma when they can easily make millions as college kid. Now high schools are paying their players too, so it further divides top athletes from going to a fringe/circus show like the ufc. Then throw on top of that the 12k/12k and you got to be about dumb or talentless to go to the UFC.

And again, your logic is supremely fucked. According to your big smooth brain, the only good fighters are the ones who don't play a real sport. Guess that just leaves all the nerds and geeks to be fighters. No wonder why a fringe NFL'er like Matt Mitrione could knock out Fedor with minimal training.

Once again how successful you are at a ball sports literally nothing to do fighting! Mitrione played football and he knocked out a really old Fedor who is was chinny after all his fight miles. Thanks for the example. Another great example is Greg Hardy

Enjoy your Wheaties and your LeBron pyjamas!

Somehow your smooth brain thinks that people who are bigger stronger and faster would be terrible fighters. Hell brock is another good example of a washed up wanna be footballer who picked up mma on the side and won the strap. Shaq would have absolutely ran through the hw division in his prime with no training. And lebron still whoops your ass with no training and with two torn acls.

LeBron is the epitome of a 6’7 p*ssy.

Lol no comment about Pro-bowl Greg Hardy getting Knocked out by a 41 year old ex-mma fighter Josh Watson with a 6-4 mma record.

Could you imagine if Josh Watson would’ve went into football instead of MMA and bare knuckle? Based on his fighting skills, he would’ve made an amazing football player (see what I did there?)

You forget about Brock who couldn't even hack it past the practice squad coming over with minimum training and winning the HW belt. Mitrione knocked out Fedor and he was just a fringe NFLer. The GOAT mma'er is Jon and his 2 bro's are stars in the NFL. You have to be extremely stupid to think that the attributes of the top athletes isn't beneficial for the fight game. Most of the talent pool is in the real sports paying millions thats why the UFC bigger divisions MW and up are so shallow, especially hw.

Josh Watson would have been a Pro Bowler too and a way better defensive end If he didn’t follow his passion for combat sports he could’ve been even better than Hardy! At 41 years old, he’s still KOing younger bigger Pro Bowlers!

Bahahaha

And brock was a washed up wanna be practice squad'er and he won the hw belt with minimum training. Most of the big talented HWs are out there playing sports making millions instead of peanuts for greatgramps Dana. Guess your smooth brain thinks that only those who are 'smaller, weaker, slower' could make good fighters since they don't have the talent to make millions in other sports. College athletes make more money a year than most UFC'ers make over the career.

Brock also had an amazing collegiate wrestling background. Crazy to think that a guy with a wrestling background would do well in mma!

Who cares about his level in football. Quit acting like the NFL is the pinnacle for athletics lol 1703345825882.jpeg

Brock had an amazing history of ped use is what you should have said. Brock with minimum mma training became ufc champ and dude couldn't even hack it in the NFL. Again Jon is the perfect example, as both his brothers are stud NFL'ers while Jon is considered the goat of mma. If both of Jon's brothers choose mma over making millions in the NFL, they too would be at the top of the sport. Now imagine if Jon didn't go MMA and choose the NFL like his brothers. You would be sitting here saying that Jon could never be good at MMA bc he plays football making millions. You too stoopid to see how having good genetics, which most pro athletes have, is a great base for mma. Having NBA reach is un teachable. Having elite fast twitch muscles is un teachable. Having extreme natural power, is un teachable. But according to your big smooth brain, these traits aren't good for fighting. Let me guess, your blood line is pure as can be for the last 1,000 years?

It is truly apples and oranges! Quit thinking that if you’re good at a ball sport you’ll be a great fighter. It’s simply not true!

Just look at those elite fast twitch fibres in action lol. Jake was just aYouTuber at that time too! Lol

Now I get it. You saying just bc someone is black and in the NFL don't mean they would be good at mma. Woodley would never make it in the NFL or close to it. Not even the same athlete. Again, we have Jon Jones as the perfect example. Jon is the goat of MMA and he could have easily been elite in the NFL just like his two brothers. Neither Jon's brothers are close to being the goat in the NFL, yet Jon is easily the goat of MMA. Jon took to the NFL instead, he would never have been close to being the GOAT. Again you keep smooth braining over the fact that being a pro athlete, most possess elite genes. THere is some stat posted years ago about the fighter with the long reach wins more times than not. Now throw in NBA guys with elite level reach and that absolutely translate to the fight game.

Guess you hung up on black people coming over from the nfl/nba, but white guys like JJ Watt and Gronk would have been excellent in MMA if they chose to make peanuts over the millions playing football. Gronk, 6'6 with 34 1/2 inch arms and 10 3/4 inch hand while benching 225 lbs 23 times in a row, or JJ Watt 6'5 with 34 inch arms and 11 1/8 inch hand benching 225 lbs 34 reps in a row. That size is un teachable. But hey the UFC guys with 72 inch wingspans at HW are just so much better at 6'2 and 40 lbs of fat on the belly.

Basketball players don't seem to be athletic enough to be good fighters. Or at least their athleticism doesn't translate to MMA. Plenty of former college football end up in the UFC when NFL is not interested but I never see "former basketball players" ever make it into the UFC. Isn't that sport supposed to be just as popular as football? And they would be all heavyweights which is the easiest division to make it into, several football players go to 185 and 205 along with 265.

I think Travis Browne was the only one that played basketball. I'm not sure anyone else. But I heard many times the words "defensive lineman" or "offensive lineman" whatever that means. Football is what you want to look, not basketball. Basketball players sounds like a bunch of lanky feeble dudes that can't fight.

Good luck getting guys with NBA quality athleticism and size to sign up for brain damage at 12k to show.

The risk -vs- reward is completely out of wack for anyone with options. We get the guys who wash out of other sports completely or the occasional freak like Jones who is an elite athlete, but tripped and fell into MMA.
