International E-bike fire on subway sparks safety concerns

In Toronto.
A E Bike has caught fire in Toronto's subway causing fire in the subway.
Forcing evacuation.

I am surprised that Toronto has yet not banned E-bikes/lithium-ion battery charged bikes on the subways or on the TTCs.
I had seen a few people carrying their E bikes on the buses in Toronto once in a while.

This is an easy fix. They can implement standards for these bikes that get imported into the country. The issue isn't with the bikes but rather the batteries. These fires happen when people overcharge their batteries or buy aftermarket parts.
