Sorry dude but you’re a fool if you believe that nonsense and people voted for lots of reasons; sovereignty, immigration and having controls of making our own laws and decisions are the main reasons. Not 1 far right party has a single seat in Parliament out of over 650 constituencies. Yet 20m voted for brexit. There’s your answer. Even UKIP can’t be classed as a far right party. Also why would the far right be concerned about the influx of Europeans, who are the same race. They are far more concerned with Islam and last time I checked there are no Islamic counties in the Eu??

In reality we could’ve left the eu at any point in the last 30 years had their been a referendum; no one should be surprised. We have always viewed the Eu for trade, and have never bought in to it the same way much of continental Europe have. This is the reason why we didn’t join the Euro, and used our veto regularly to stop further integration and centralisation. We were always going to leave because our vision of the EU has always been completely at odds with Germany and France. Giving any credit to the right is laughable

I see you're arguing a small distinction that I'm content to concede. It wasn't necessarily the far right alone, but clearly the Leave campaign was heavily right-leaning, notwithstanding the Labour Party's leader went against his own party on the issue.

Why would the German chancellor comment on no go areas in Britain?

I was born in Birmingham and grew up in London, the 2 cities with the highest number of Muslims so why do I need to research when it’s been in my doorstep for over 40 years. Where are these no go areas? There are areas in most of the big cities that have a concentration of Muslims because guess what, most immigrants tend to form their own communities. And the most dangerous areas of London’s when I lived there like hackney and Peckham, most certainly are not mostly Muslim but a mix of people’s. Mainly white and black with a Christian background

Some Christian countries in Africa have homosexuality as a capital punishment as well as some Islamic states, so why pick out only Islamic countries?

As for sharia law, supporting it doesn’t mean you support terrorism. I don’t agree with the homophobia, misogyny or sharia law, but why would I let it bother me. I don’t know why so many people were surprised by the outcome. Imo it was also due to a combination of Cameron being given fck all when he went cap in hand to the EU, coupled with the migrant crisis that was ongoing at the time. I think these 2 probably tipped the balance amongst voters
There’s definately a lot of voters that voted due to prejudice, but I also think that there was a valid concern that 500 million people can just turn up on our shores at any point. Couple this with years of cuts to services and austerity, it’s not surprising that the locals in working class areas were pissed off. Austerity is the real issue but Cameron couldn’t shit on his own policy so let the Eu immigrants take the blame.
