"Hey, remember that time seven months ago when a person that Republicans are obsessed with pretending is some kind of serious criminal had to pay a small fine for possibly misclassifying paying lawyers for oppo research as legal services? Honestly though, isn't this the fine they paid way back when or is this something new?

To be clear, they are NOT being fined for giving Perkins Cole $1 Million to do opposition research. That is perfectly legal and both parties do it all the time.

They are being fined for not properly disclosing it. They said it was legal fees not 'opposition research'.

On it's own, it's a pretty trivial matter. But the fact that this money funded the Steele dossier makes it more interesting.

Honestly, the fact that the FEC dismissed it's complaints against Perkins Cole, Fusion, AND Steele is the far more compelling piece of news.
