Fox News is reporting that former President Donald J. Trump will be arrested sometime next week.

“We are learning that the Manhattan DA’s office has asked for a meeting with law enforcement ahead of a potential Trump indictment. This is coming to Fox News from a source in the courts. The meeting, which was requested yesterday and has not been set yet, is to discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean that they are anticipating an indictment next week. The same source familiar with the planning said they will go over security preparations in and around the courthouse in lower Manhattan,” Fox News said. “Secret service will take the lead in what they will allow or will not allow.”

“The source cautioned mentioning, for instance, the decision to handcuff the former president or not. They will set the tone and will escort him into the courtroom. There will be coordination between all of us the source said, but we will defer to the secret service. The battle will be between secret service and DA Alvin Bragg. They will decide how and when he’ll get into the building and they are not going to leave him.”

The source believes that the former president will still have to be fingerprinted and processed like every other defendant. So this is a huge development if Alvin Bragg has decided to go ahead with the felony indictment of the former president. This was a charge that the federal officials refused to prosecute on or even really pursue. This was a misdemeanor in New York that Alvin Bragg has decided to elevate to a felony while at the same time downgrading other felonies to misdemeanors. So we’ll be watching this to see how it all unfolds to get more information that comes in.”

the reasons for the possible arrest:

"Prosecutors working for Mr. Bragg have signaled that an indictment of Mr. Trump could be imminent. But they have not told Mr. Trump’s lawyers when the charges — expected to stem from a 2016 hush money payment to a porn star — would be sought or an arrest made, people with knowledge of the matter said. At least one more witness is expected to testify in front of the grand jury, which could delay an indictment, the people said."

Update March 31st:

NEW YORK (AP) — Donald Trump has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, a historic reckoning after years of investigations into his personal, political and business dealings and an abrupt jolt to his bid to retake the White House.

The exact nature of the charges was unclear Friday because the indictment remained under seal, but they stem from payments made during the 2016 presidential campaign to silence claims of an extramarital sexual encounter. Prosecutors said they were working to coordinate Trump’s surrender, which could happen early next week. They did not say whether they intended to seek prison time in the event of a conviction, a development that wouldn’t prevent Trump from seeking and assuming the presidency.

The indictment, the first against a former U.S. president, injects a local district attorney’s office into the heart of a national presidential race and ushers in criminal proceedings in a city that the ex-president for decades called home. Arriving at a time of deep political divisions, the charges are likely to reinforce rather than reshape dueling perspectives of those who see accountability as long overdue and those who, like Trump, feel the Republican is being targeted for political purposes by a Democratic prosecutor.

Here’s what to know about Trump’s day in court:

HUSH-MONEY PAYMENTS RELATED TO 2016 ELECTION
Prosecutors unsealed the indictment against the former president Tuesday, giving Trump, his lawyers and the world their first opportunity to see them. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Prosecutors said Trump conspired to undermine the 2016 presidential election by trying to suppress information that could harm his candidacy, and then concealing the true nature of the hush-money payments. The payments were made to two women — including a porn actor — who claimed they had sexual encounters with him years earlier, and to a doorman at Trump Tower who claimed to have a story about a child Trump fathered out of wedlock, according to the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
DONALD J. TRUMP, DEFENDANT
Trump was only seen briefly outside the district attorney’s office, where he surrendered to authorities and was booked and fingerprinted behind closed doors. Trump’s mugshot was not taken, according to two law enforcement officials who could not publicly discuss details of the process and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
A ‘SURREAL’ DAY IN THE CITY WHERE HE GAINED FAME

Before he appeared in court, Trump made posts on his social media network complaining that the heavily Democratic area was a “VERY UNFAIR VENUE” and “THIS IS NOT WHAT AMERICA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!” As his motorcade carried him across Manhattan, he posted that the experience was “SURREAL.”

The Republican has portrayed the Manhattan case and three separate investigations from the Justice Department and prosecutors in Georgia, as politically motivated. In recent weeks, he has lashed out at Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, called on his supports to protest and warned about “potential death and destruction” if he were charged.

TRUMP ADDRESSES SUPPORTERS
Appearing in front of several hundred supporters at his Florida home, Mar-a-Lago, Tuesday night, Trump repeated his claims that the investigation was politically motivated. He and attacked Bragg and the judge in the New York case, the judge’s family and other prosecutors investigating him in other cases.

“The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it,” Trump said.

BRAGG SPEAKS BRIEFLY

Bragg, speaking publicly for the first time since the indictment last week, held a brief news conference after the court proceedings in which he said the hush-money scheme constituted “felony crimes in New York state—no matter who you are.”

“We cannot and will not normalize serious criminal conduct,” Bragg said. The Democratic prosecutor said accurate and true business records are important everywhere, but especially in Manhattan, because it’s the financial center of the world.

I see reporting thatTrump will voluntarily surrender himself on Tuesday if indicted. If true, I don’t immediately think this is necessarily bad news for his re-election prospects. It’s fits his (persecuted) narrative.

I wonder if DeSantis will try to get arrested too just to keep up.

DeSantis should become a cop real quick and try to be the arresting officer. The ultimate power move...maybe slam Trump's face into the police cruiser door for the cameras.

His lawyer didn't deny it; instead he issued a statement that Trump won't refuse to surrender and there won't be a standoff at Maro Lago loooool.

Former President Donald Trump will not refuse to surrender if the Manhattan district attorney criminally indicts him, his lawyer told the Daily News Friday.

“There won’t be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago with Secret Service and the Manhattan DA’s office,” Joe Tacopina said.

Obviously something is in the works if his lawyer felt that statement was necessary.

ok then, this looks like something with high likelihood to happen.

Yeah, the powers that be reeeaally don’t want Trump to be able to run for President again. Most likely the charges won’t stick, but by then the media will have the optics of Trump in handcuffs and that’ll be all they need.

This arrest will simply make Trump more likely to win the GOP nomination. Enrage the aggrieved.

Calling for his supporters to protest and take the nation back?

Hopefully any action stays peaceful, could get ugly tho depending on how exactly the arrest goes down
Multiple ones flipped out after the Maro Lago raid for the classified material. One guy tried to avenge Trump by attempting to go Terminator 1 on an FBI HQ. Didn't work out for him. He's worm food. He was posting on Truth Social as he was doing it and got killed mid "truth."
