JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Companies run by a former professional wrestler received “sham contracts” in Mississippi and misspent millions of dollars of welfare money that was supposed to help some of the neediest people in the U.S., according to a new federal indictment.

The indictment of former wrestler Ted “Teddy” DiBiase Jr., 40, of Madison, Mississippi, was unsealed Thursday, two days after it was issued by a grand jury in Jackson. During a brief court appearance Thursday, he pleaded not guilty.

The indictment is the latest development in a sprawling Mississippi corruption case involving wealthy and well-connected people receiving contracts from the state Department of Human Services from 2016 to 2019.

DiBiase was a WWE wrestler in the 2000s and 2010s. The indictment accuses him and co-conspirators, including former Mississippi Department of Human Services director John Davis, of fraudulently obtaining federal money and using it for their own benefit.

I'm sure the generations poverty in Mississippi is still somehow the Democrats fault though! It was those evil leftists forcing the good hardworking Republicans in that state to steal literally millions of tax payer funds and give it to their celebrity friends.

Ah yes,

the circle has been completed..

Where does it say he’s republican?

I was told welfare barely even counts for any of the federal budget, so cheating a portion of an already negligible amount of money should be no problem.

BTW, the money was sending the wrestler to rehab, not buying him a Ferrari

"Davis was executive director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services from February 2016 through July 2019. He was appointed by then-Gov. Phil Bryant, a Republican."

Was any of the money used to purchase steroids?

Was any of the money used to purchase steroids?

I don't know the full breakdown but I do know at least some of it was used to pay for his brother's stay at fancy drug rehab resort in California.

So nowhere then.

Let me connect the dots to you snowflake.

The corruption originated from the Republican administration of Mississippi. They stole our tax money and gave it to already wealthy celebrities.

This guy could be a Stalinist, that doesn't change the fact that corrupt Republicans are handing our your tax dollars to their friends. He is just one of the multiple beneficiaries of that corruption that was taking place since at least 2016.

"Hours after pleading guilty in federal court, Davis appeared in state court and pleaded guilty to five counts of conspiracy and 13 counts of fraud against the government. Hinds County Circuit Judge Adrienne Wooten gave Davis a 90-year sentence with 58 of those suspended and 32 to serve."

Davis is the same person as Ted Jr?
