You can pretty much watch every Film of Jean Pierre Melville and you get a great Film.like Le Doulos or Bob le Flambeur

Melville is one of the greatest ever directors and a huge influence on American crime films. These are far from his only great films

Melville rules. Without him, there'd be no John Woo and no Michael Mann, no The Professional and no Ghost Dog. So much contemporary crime cinema goes back to him. In addition to those late films, as well as his early films Bob the Gambler and Le Doulos, his final film A Cop is fantastic and his 1966 film Le deuxième souffle (which roughly translates to "second wind") is amazing and very Heat-esque. And for as incredible as he was at making crime films, he also made powerful "straight" dramas, like his debut feature Le Silence de la mer and his mid-career banger Léon Morin, Priest.
