Usually first by their appearance. The way they dress and their gait. And their physical features. To get to know them better I have to hear the content of their words and how they talk/speak and go from there.

It usually takes a 5-10 minutes before I can tell if this is someone worth while to hang out with.

A little of everything mentioned really.

I think research has shown that it only takes most people, less than 20 seconds to form an opinion on new people from memory.

By how rational or irrational they are. Got to talk to them first tbh. Don't like judging people by looks alone. If we went by looks someone like Bill Gates would look like just some normal old guy.

Had a convo with a random guy at a bar in Vegas. Nice suit and seemed well off but not any different than most others there. Towards the end of the convo I find he actually owns the casino I'm in and his family owns Caesars entertainment. He was kind enough to cover my drinks lol.

I don't know if it's right or wrong of me but I judge within minutes of interaction with someone. Body language, speech, how they interact with others influences my opinion. I judge them on what they say, how they say it, and how they treat others.

I'm usually spot on; my judge of character is a gift that I'm thankful for.

I've met a friend of one of my good friends, disliked them, had my friend defend the person, then watched that same friend bitch about the person because they acted in a manner I could see coming after talking to and witnessing that person for a few hours on the day we met.

I assess and observe a person based on known metrics and behavioral patterns.

Judgment isn’t something I believe I am fit to perform.

Almost every closest friends I have started out as someone I dislike lol. And some people I really like during first meeting turns out to be someone I truly dislike after a lot of encounter. Very hard to judge a person correctly with just a short period of time.

We judge and evaluate people by many dimensions.

However, I'd say when I first meet someone it's by how respectful they are, their energy, and their social skills/how smooth of a conversation we have. For example, they ask questions, not only talk, and maintain strong active listening skills.

With all factors met, I will like them initially for the most part.

I'm kind of like that too. Then again, it takes about 9 years to get to know me. Two things I've heard in my life from friends:
1. I didn't like you when I met you.
Or,
2. I didn't know what to make of you in the beginning.

I have learned in life to not judge a book by its cover. Maybe initially I will, but I'll always take the time to chat with a person to see what they are about before doing any real judging.

But I do have a couple of small ways I tend to steer my judgments.

For women, if they smile or have that bitch smile.

For men, how they shake hands.

9 years is a long time brother.

If someone has a huge house or bank account, I want to hear their story, otherwise I’m in the past 40 club, I have no friends and perfectly content with that.
