Is Beterbiev a good style to emulate ?

Ward lost Kovalev 1 and although he dug deep for the rematch Beterbiev is far more balanced than Kovy and has better fundamentals. Beterbiev has been KD and had that horrific forehead cut (weird btw). Cant see him losing to Ward over low blows or anything. Ward is arguably GOAT at 168 (although RJJ and Toney probably beat him...and Canelo would be interesting) but he was not as effective at 175 imo
Yeah thats my thought as well, eventhough Kovalev was a mental wreck Ward used every tool available to him to beat Kovalev, Biev would be another story.

if it works for you, why not?

people like to dismiss beterbiev as just a puncher, but he's clearly very skilled at what he does. take a look at the smith fight, for example. on the surface, it may look like just a shootout, but in reality, beterbiev did some impressively slick stuff there.
There is so much more than just power that I see in Beterbiev. I feel like he is a master of range management and rythm, i.e. timing. He is a very good counter puncher and the way he is able to impose his rythm and range on all apanents necessitates more than just power. Very good clinch too.

He is extremely methodical and the only moments you will see him start swinging is when he got tagged.

He has very good defense as well.

Beterbiev has great fundamentals but he's also well aware of his power and chin. As such, he fights in a way that maximizes those traits and is why he spends so much time cutting off the ring and thumping people.

Beterbiev might be the PFP #1 fighter in the world but never had the opportunity to fight Bivol, Canelo, Benavidez, Ward, GGG, etc. I'd favor any version of Beter to beat all of those fighters.
Cos Ward, Clen are pussies?
Bet was world top tier ammy during long years.
Looks that he get that just wievership, $ and nationalism is core for a pro boxing industry.
Therefore had adapted his own style: don't allow your opponent to travel till judges cards...

Old, injured and past prime he still isn't dumb ....

Beterbiev is abnormally strong and heavy handed. Similar to a George foreman. He doesn't put in a lot to his punches but they do a ton of damage. For most people to throw power punches you have to commit to your punches a lot more. But if you are very tough and a cardio machine you can make a variation of his style effective for you
That s a very good question and maybe THE question. I won t ever be able to TKO someone by cumulative punching on guard or brushing the top of the head with a hook.
But I feel like more than his exact technique, it's his approach that I really like and that works for me.

Ofcourse it is. Ya’ll of your mind being nitpicky like that.
He was still halfway through high school when he beat Kovalev who was nearing 20. And Kovalev had monstrous power, he killed a dude in the ring.

he fucking edged out Michael Hunter in the ammies too.
He probably would have turned pro as a CW if he didnt face Usyk back then too.

its not like ts is gonna be an exact replica of the guy, but to breakdown and mimick his style and then trialNerror it to mold his own. Absolutely he Artur is a good pick.
Right, I never TKO apanents in sparring except with body shots occasionally. I feel like Beterbiev's style can work very well on scorecards, too. His style is focused on accumulation and wearing down. Hell, he has quite many late stoppages in his wins and is usually ahead on scorecards.

Yes all you'll need is to be one of the most powerful punchers in human history and you should be good to go
OK so you are implicitely saying that Beterbiev s system is only attribute based?

The best I look in sparring is when I happen to look like him.
That's cool. The greatest artists are proud thieves, stealing whatever they can from those that came before them and then making it their own.

That’s not just artists. That’s literally everybody anywhere at anytime doing anything.

Even accountants and grocery store checkout clerks?!

Is there nothing pure and wholesome left in this world?

Funny u should mention that, the wife is doing her CPA internship at a small office nearby. She always tells me about how the old fart who runs the place always complains about how his past employees learn his “trade secrets” and leave to open their own business with his “blood and sweat earned methods”.

dude literally looks and sounds like a live action Eustace Bag from Courage.

.....or is it too attributes based (i.e. power and strength)?
I recently adapted to a more forward pressure compact style with lots of body work and Beterbiev's system really resonates with me.
I will never have a fraction of his power yet at the same time I feel like EVERYTHING he does is technically sound.

So does that make sense or do I sound like one of those noobs trying peek a boo to look like Mike Tyson?

Boxing professionally?
