Is Randy Johnson the greatest pitcher in history, or who is it? Nolan Ryan? Or? What is your reasoning?

I would rank

1. Walter Johnson
2. Sandy Koufax
3. Bob Gibson
4. Pedro Martinez
5. Nolan Ryan/Randy Johnson

Cy Young - basically invented modern pitching an played an insane amount of innings an games also entire career in deadball era.

Scariest pitcher ever - Bob Gibson in his prime.

Best pitcher in prime would be Koufax

Best overall stats per game is Walter Johnson..

Best pitcher I remember seeing in his Prime was Pedro.

Most exciting pitcher I ever saw in prime was Nolan Ryan.

They left Pedro in too long.

I still remember.

No, but he makes a great Teddy Bear.

(I personally put him in my "modern day" top 3 - Greg Maddux, Pedro Martinez and Randy Johnson)

I was a Mets fan so my answer has to be Tom Seaver or Nolan Ryan.

I wouldn't say greatest, most intimidating for sure. But I suppose it's how you weigh it. Most consistency, better prime, better accolades. For me it's who would you want pitching game 7 of the World Series.
