So, pub. Trump for president is looking like a certainty at this stage. That's interesting.
I'm not too worried, I think a lot of his worst stuff was just playing to the crowds he had. I am however, a little worried that I live in a country where >50% of people chose someone with no experience, no real policy plans (except being anti-trade), no reliance on telling the truth, who is anti-journalist just so they wouldn't have to vote for a woman(who I admit wasn't the most desirable candidate due to questionable decision-making as Secretary of state, her losing in the primary 8 years ago, and her relationship to a former president.).
I think Trump is a harmless blowhard in the end, but I wonder if we'd elect someone much worse if given the opportunity. I mean Trump ran a terrible campaign and won, how hateful and decisive could you get away with being if you actually were a skilled politician.
Trump had a lot of the vote from the working class as he promised bringing back manufacturing. Obamacare was an issue too.
I get that, but tariffs, is that really going to bring those jobs back and if it does, will it be worth the higher prices we'll all have to pay?
The problem is that we have a ton of uneducated, rural white people who are expecting him to build a wall, ship 11 million Mexicans home, fire up all the coal mines, stop every Muslim from coming into the country and nuke the middle east; these are the people I am scared of. What's going to happen when he doesn't actually mean to do all these things?
I don't think he plans to do any of it, he has had center left views his whole life until he decided to run for the republican nomination. I think Hillary is more conservative than Trump.
