Jon Jones/GSP/ Khabib the numbers tell who is GOAT

How is he better than Fedor?
Fedor is a legend, nothing but respect. However he beat a lot of cans, never fought against elite heavyweights in the UFC and got exposed for some big weaknesses in his game in his three fight streak of loses. Was never the same after that.

Fedor got knocked out by a 40 something year old middleweight

got his ass kicked in most of his wins in pride by amateur one dimensional fighters who couldn’t defend armbars

padded record Japanese cans

once he fought real competition he tapped and got KOd repeatedly

Brett fucking Rogers almost decapitated him, a gay Sam’s club tire salesmen and sexual predator

and Matt Mitrione KOd him

GOAT discussion not possible

his legacy is built on beating Cro Cop and Nogueira

his team prevented him from fighting big name guys like Overeem or from having him come to the UFC. Like the UFC should have partnered with M1 to bring over a potbelly like Fedor just for him to get KOd by the likes of Brandon Vera

More fun facts:

GSP is 7-2 against 4 guys throughout his career (Hughes, Serra, Penn, and Koscheck)

This accounts for 26.92% of his total career wins, and almost exactly 1/3rd (32.14%) of his total career fights (28).

Shit's weak!

Matt Hughes accounts for 135 of those 494 wins tagged to GSP. That's 27.33% of ALL of GSP's opponents' wins by just one guy.

359 wins without Hughes beefin up that stat.

Shit's weak.

It just means beating Matt Hughes is a much bigger deal than beating Tibau.

Most of the 29 guys Khabib beat were cans with losing records. His first good win was against RDA, on his 22nd fight. Like seriously. Khabib was beating nobodies for more than 2/3s of his career. And yet his nuthuggers keep going back to the 29-0 as the reason why he is GOAT.

The only acceptable argument for Khabib's GOAT status is how dominating he was at the top. But even then, the longevity of his run isn't quite comparable to GSP, Jones, Silva, MM or Jose Aldo.

khabib does not belong in that league he s on the level of DC / Stipe / Couture

as for GSP and Jones grease boy lose 2 times in his prime Jon has never lose

But he was undefeated for 31 wins. Gsp fought 28 times total, 5 times against Hughes and Serra who he lost against. How can you expect better than undefeated past 30 fights in mma? Jon Jones looks done after his 27th and 28th fight. Khabib is done after 29 fighting smallish men.

How do you go 10 years without a ko loss at heavyweight? Gsp fought way less dangerous men

Any GOAT thread that doesn't include Fedor in the discussion should be dumped. I don't care if you think he's GOAT or not but if your comparing potential GOATs give the man his due.

Except only a fraction of them had losing records lmao. Username checks out I guess...

Yea ok it was hyperbole there. I could have articulated my point better. But the point stands. He was fighting subpar competition until RDA.

To clarify, the guys with "winning records" before then either spend their entire time in minor leagues, or are .3 to .5 fighters at best.

Looking at some of the guys Khabib fought, can you blame his detractors for saying he padded his record?

Vusal Bayramov 2-5
Magomed Magomedov 3-8
Shamil Abdulkerimov 4-3
Said Akhmed 0-1
Vitaliy Ostrovskiy 9-11
Alexander Agafonov 5-3
Said Khalilov 13-13
Ashot Shahinyan 2-5
Kadzhik Abadzhyan 3-6
Hamiz Mamedov 8-4
Vadim Sandulskiy 8-5
Arymarcel Santos 41-38 (Khabib was his 2nd straight loss out of a 6 fight losing streak for Santos)
29 fights in total at a small weight class with much less dangerous opponents. Pretty lame
