last night was the death of nofap

7 times a day? no way, how can you even function like that, wouldnt you be walking around with a giant arm or something

Thats not the point

There are levels

And most have accepted a fairly mediocre point as their baseline without questioning or experimenting to change it

Which, beyond nofap, obviously also extends into personal betterment, nutrition, physical fitness, mental health etc

Anyone who hasnt done that experiment for themselves doesnt really know.

That said, it is a fairly understudied topic, relatively speaking. Which is understandable. If the damage to our potential was widely known by the masses, it would be a significant blow to more than a few industries and agendas

The experiment is supported by testimony and support all pushing you to believe it is effective. The influence of a mass placebo effect can't be ignored here.

Listen, we can both agree the evidence either way is shallow. But it really seems like you are over emphasizing the anecdotal evidence to try and backfill the lack of real research. Not trying to be a dick here, honestly. And I'm not claiming piles of research on my side either.

Ive been doing it on and off for like 10 years lol

Long before nofap was even a community.

Prior to that it was sexual transmutation and based on ancient mystical, spiritual and religious systems. Using figures throughout history, athletes and others as examples.

Ive basically experienced all the varying levels and changes depending on the day.

So i know what it does / doesnt at this point quite well

Thing is about science, it can be a game of politics. Many worthy topics are understudied and even pushed down because theyre deemed a threat in some way. Money, politics, conflicts of interest, corruption.

Its a dirty game. For that reason, while peer reviewed literature remains a powerful tool for ascertaining truth, it shouldn't always be the absolute which we run our lives by.

In some cases we are left to our own devices.

In the case of "nofap" or sexual energy, there is an absurd amount of data going back thousands of years. Combined with a significant amount of anecdotal data, empirical data, personal experience and what science we do have, it paints a clear enough picture.

Science is a game of experimentation and sometimes those experiments need to be done by us.

There is some research here

There was a few noteworthy studies on androgen receptor density for long term abstinence

When i have some time ill dig for them.

There was one or two studies i remember on androgen receptor density and one on test from china i think

Cant find them right now, when i have some time ill dig for them

There's some data here

That's all porn addiction. Are we grouping porn addiction and regular sexual activity under no fap? From what I've found it doesn't seem like the no fap movement is specific to sex/porn addicts only and includes guys who are regular MB's but not overly so.

The relationship problem specifically. Porn addiction affecting relationships is obvious but doesn't say anything for how regular sex with a real person/people does. One is antisocial and fantastical. One is peak social physical attachment.

Are we talking porn addiction and excessive MB or just slightly beyond regular MB frequency? Because if no fap is combining these very 2 different scenarios, and using research from one aspect to cover all aspects, it honestly makes me less convinced of no fap benefits in the realm aside from porn addiction

"...and the crazy fucker started jerking off in the waiting room....

...Instant section eight."

Yeah thats a very important distinction to make indeed

its more so targetted at the modern generation / internet porn usage

We have masturbated since the beginning of time but these issues are pretty new

Obviously porn isnt the same as normal masturbation or getting actual pussy

Abstinence on its own does have a long history of purported benefits. Well known in the martial arts, boxing schools going back a century, ancient mystical, religious and spiritual systems.

But yeah, thats an important distinction to be made. Overall its a pretty messy topic in every way, hopefully in the future we see some larger well constructed studies.

I did find this on androgen receptors, its on rodents, but worth a read. There was another one or two but ill dig to find them later

Im not trying to come down on spiritual texts or mythical knowledge. I'm aware some things have been known long before science and trust me I have criticised the political and ideological agendas and bias in scientific studies for a long time. I'm with you on that. Just not convinced that agenda is really affecting the study of load blowing lol. Might explain why there isn't more research. I look forward to the conspiracy movie about the no fap agenda in the scientific community to bury conflicting studies

If i had to guess id say it were the porn industry

Porn makes over 100 billion dollars a year in revenue

The tobacco industry used to falsify studies back in the day in favor of tobacco.

When you have that much money, you have the power to manipulate research in your favor.

If research on the damage that porn and excessive masturbation became mainstream, it would definitely be a blow.

Of all the things you nerds have wall of text discussions about...

Just chill. Stop stressing about silly stuff like this..

More testosterone? Just train more and sleep more..

More disipline? Just focus..

Jerking off too much ruins real sex. I realize that most chronic masterbaters have no shot at real sex so it might be irrelevant.
