lol i guess mtg didn't go for the privileged motion because right now there are a bunch of republican absentees and it they were to put it to a vote right now to remove the speaker and then vote to elect a speaker, if all the democrats showed up they could elect a democrat speaker because they would have the majority of votes assuming every democrat showed up and the absentees were still not present in the house chambers.

at a vote total of 286-134, with democrat support, the house just passed a 1.2 trillion dollar bill for the american people. and they avoided a government shutdown and the american people who have government jobs will be able to go to work on monday. and thats why maga republicans are pissed off and want to remove their leader and shut down the house.

When the government gets shut down, it sends a ripple effect across the country, affecting millions of people.
People in the military get their paychecks withheld. You could be in active combat, and not be getting paid. Programs like WIC and SNAP that provide vital nutrition to children gets suspended. National Parks are closed, leaving thousands without jobs, and affecting all the surrounding businesses that rely on those tourist dollars.
I could go on and on about all the people that are negatively affected by a federal government shutdown.

So, let's revisit why howler monkey Greene made the motion to remove him.

Now, let's talk about holding Johnson hostage for a Medicare vote. Why would they need to hold him hostage for something like that? If we follow the Republican pattern on Medicare from the past couple of years, they'd be trying to take benefits away from Americans that need those program to survive. To get treatment, they couldn't afford. It stops people from dying.
