My big stupid hype trains thread.

Just clocked Samat Mamedov on the Octagon 53 card next week. His record looks sensational. Will be tuning in.

Never seen him. To me it looks like he needs to fight on either the LFA Brazil cards, Jungle Fight or SFT to fight some decent competition first.
Already 33 and doesn't have any impressive wins, think the best he'll get is a contender series spot against someone they want to sign. He's a finisher though, so there's a chance he pulls through in that situation.

Just discovered Max Holzer on Tap. This could be FOTY.

Alibeg Rasulov signed with ONE

So he will basically not fight that often the next couple years and then retire or get destroyed in UFC or Bellator.

I hope ONE starts fleshing out their MMA divisions above lightweight, they have names to put on fights at welterweight but I rarely see any matchups and there is no real structure to the bouts.

I also see Omargadzhiev fought on that card, why did he get released so quickly from the UFC? He lost to Borralho who is the darkhorse at MW imo and lost another fight to Abubakar Nurmagomedov.
They could give him at least another fight.

Will try and get on with this again. I've decided to change the rankings because trying to think of fighters for divisions like heavyweight and ending up putting shit fighters like Greg Velasco and Hugo Cunha was a pain I've decided just to do a top 100 overall across all weight divisions instead. That way I can just focus on fighters I'm actually interested in.

I also decided to keep it to fighters outside the "majors" as they're the ones who actually have a chance of signing somewhere. For reference I'm classing the majors as UFC, PFLator, ACA, ONE, RIZIN and KSW

I like this less, holy shit. Go back to divisional rankings.

Just gotta say this is a great thread and I appreciate your efforts. Especially as a guy that used to follow the sport religiously and has fallen nearly into casual status over the years. This kind of thing helps me when my interest piques once in a while, looking for future talent. So thank you.

I feel like when it was put divisionally it was easier to follow and extrapolate from and even add to.
Agreed, I tend to focus only on certain weight classes.

It's also a better format than having to scroll endlessly on a list that doesn't have any highlighted text.

I mean you guys can always make your own rankings, doesn't just need to be @Hellowhosthat who is posting rankings.

Would also be fun to see different rankings, someone might know somebody the others don't vice versa.
Just my 2 cents.

Only one heavyweight on that list. if that's what you are looking for.
