New Computer: What to download/use/run?

Chrome with Ublock Origin and Disconnect (add ons)
VLC player (maybe Acestream too)
Kaspersky Free (unless you pay for AV)

Spotify Desktop (cracked if need it)
Of course Office and a (light) PDF viewer for work (no need to have Adobe)

I crack several apps, no matter how much it costs in some cases.
Kaspersky is a russian software, yes, still one of the best AV on the market.

You guys need to understand not every sherdogger is a murican with 1st world privileges.

Open command prompt and run deltree. Then when the operation is done, pour kerosene and allow yourself a reasonably safe distance to make sure deltree worked

Oh, sorry then.
You can block the server's URL from where the ads (audio and images) are originated.
At the same time you need to block the URLs for app's updates since they change those URL because of fckers like me who use this method.

Any VPN recommendations?

Ublock Origin is good adblocker. You can also install Ghostry addon as well, which blocks trackers etc (you might need to adjust it for it to show embedded videos etc.).

I use Avira free AV, which is decent enough. MalwareBytes free is good, but doesn't do real time scanning (so just useful for scanning your machine for malware when you need to).

'Patch My PC' is a good free program which supports updating hundreds of different progams in one go. Pretty handy!

If you need a VPN client, ProtonVPN is good, made by people at CERN. https://protonvpn.com
They also have a free encrypted email client at: https://protonmail.com.

Open Office is a good free alternative to MS Office.

7-Zip for compressing or extracting compressed files.

don't forget to set this sweet TapOut wallpaper as your background bro
