Tabatha is a 20 sec ñonds excercise interval followed by a 10 second rest. 8 series in total.

So, a burpee Tabatha in the morning and a burpee Tabatha at night, what do you think anoit that as your ONLY DAILY workout. 7 burpees per each 20 seconds.

A joke? Not enough to improve strengh and burn calories?

Yeah, i know this is not the right forum, but the S&C is too slow. Thanks in advance.

Well it's better then nothing but not much better. 1/10

Bro, just do bicep curls. As much weight as you can, as many reps as you can. And be sure to jerk with your back as hard as you can, 110%.

I thought some WMMA fighter named Tabatha happened to burp a lot, and this guy was analyzing the benefits from doing it as a workout.

1 burpee burns about 0.5 calories

7 burpees/series * 8 series * 0.5 calories/burpee = 28 calories burned

If you do that twice day, you'll burn 56 calories.

Doing a burpee workout every 12 hours is not conducive to building muscle, because your muscles need more time to recover.

If you want to use burpees to build muscle, then do them once every other day. Do it to failure (do as many burpees in a row as you possibly can). Then rest for a few minutes and do it to failure again. Keep repeating until your muscles are exhausted.

I mean, if you go from doing absolutely nothing to suddenly doing burpees you're going to get good results.

If you're already doing basic exercise - no.

Outstanding plan

Tabata can kill a man. The online vids show (1) 8 set round, and they're winded by the end of it. Now repeat it 7 more times.

Why 7 more times?
Tabata was designed to be a 4-minute workout. If you do it 7 more times it's not really a tabata anymore.

Or is that what Tabatha means?

Thought it was 8 rounds of 8 sets? 1 round is barely a warm up. You get loosen up but heart rate doesn't even go up until 3rd or 4th workout. Then it's over in 2 minutes

Maybe it is 1 round. Only heard of it last year or so. Maybe from women's boot camp classes before that.

It was developed and studied as 8 rounds of 20on/10off, 4 minutes total.
If one round is barely a warmup then your intensity is too low.

Reading comprehension fail. I thought it said 8 rounds rest and repeat.
There's no way in hell someone could do that many sets of high intensity weighted movements with no recovery time.
Now with clarity, it might be a fun way to end some routines. 4 minute crash course.

Tabata before bed would be retarded. Why not just do 7 straight minutes of burpees in the morning and call it a day.. That was even a Crossfit Open workout one year.

Can't do any workout before bed. At least 2 hours to cool down, eat, shower and calm down enough to sleep. Not counting 10 pushup and 15 situps before sleeping as a workout, like these ad programs say to do.

Tabata is 20 seconds of max intensity effort, 10 rest times 8.

What kind of burpees are going to provide enough stimulus to qualify as high intensity? Backflip burpees?
