Exactly what I was thinking of when I was typing that post.

Prosecutors could have done a simple Google search for the actresses DOB and search the production company of the porn DVD to see if they verify the IDs of the actresses... but no... gotta charge a guy with child pornography and the actress herself shows up to the trial to testify she was 19.

Prosecutor isn't embarassed or has any negative consequences whatsoever.

No, I remember checking on this story last year and he used to buy kitsch art and vintage erotica mags and shit in bulk and in there was some 60's or 70's art that had some nude children in it in a non-erotic setting. He most likely never saw the stuff because they were in a pile in a storage locker or something from what I remember. He was basically targeted by buying the stuff in bulk because one of the dealers ended up dealing some shit to someone that ended up being busted for having child porn. It was like when the prosecution tried to nab Michael Jackson for a Boy's Life style book that had a photo of some boys using a rope swing into a pond when they were naked or some shit.
Those kind of charges stick with people even if they aren't guilty, same as a lot of the Me Too stuff that ended up being bs.

It's weird but I'd say he was most likely not a pedo or, hebephile, or even ephebophile.

He seemed like a genuine good person. Definitely one of myh childhood heroes. I loved Pee-wee's Playhouse and Big Adventure is probably in my top 20 movies of all time. I can imagine people of a certain age both old and young not understanding the character but for my generation, he was iconic and hilarious.

The ending credits to Pee-wee's Playhouse always made me sad and what better tune to celebrate this life and his passing.

Grew up loving Pee-wee like millions of others, and when I teach a particular class on film directors, my Tim Burton lecture always includes discussion of Pee-wee's Big Adventure. This semester will be a bit sadder, but I'm always going to encourage students to watch that glorious film.

I'm also a huge Everybody Loves Raymond fan, and while I have nothing against Chris Elliott, Paul Reubens will always be Amy's real brother, the crazy comic book nerd Russell

It is way harder now to buy lots of porn. Ebay shut that stuff down a few years ago. Probably, due to some fear of being wrapped up in some shit. The was lot of really good stuff that no one really makes anymore due to there being no money in it. I think I have the entire run on Buttman and you can tell they brought in good photographers and printed that stuff up on good print. I have a bunch of Maquis, Secret, and Skin Two that are all high end bdsm photography. I don't even know where you would track old issues down anymore because different websites have gotten prickly over it . Quality-wise it is way beyond Playboy or Penthouse. The quality is on par with art magazines. Some of the old porn is also kind of interesting since it isn't so over the top and aggressive. Anyways, if you buy this old stuff, you usually do it in lots but I don't know where you even buy it anymore.

My weirdest encounter was buying from someone from craigslist. They a huge box that had to have weighed like two 60 lb boxes full of bdsm magazines, high end. I call to coordinate meeting at a mall parking lot and I swore I was talking to a chick. A lot of bdsm overlaps with crossdressing and a lot of other things. I get there and it is an older guy like 45. Was he fucking with me or did his chick not want to be at the transaction. He hands me the stuff and you can kind of tell he was proud of this collection. It was legit hard to find stuff. I pay the man and take off. All of it was in excellent condition. The transaction was straight forward but weird as fuck.

Knowing Hollywood, they will attempt a horrible “reimagined” version of Big Adventure. There’s less and less great movies of the 80’s that Hollywood hasn’t sucked dry with garbage remakes. Here’s to hoping they keep that masterpiece pristine and leave it alone. But don’t hold ur breath

I've never been to a porn theater but I always thought that that was just what they did there, sounds like they just wanted to mess with him because of his notoriety, they do that you know. I'm watching a Paula Poundstone comedy now, I heard she was embroiled in some weird shit years ago but don't know if there's any truth to it, in her case, she always did come across as a freak. I did watch a docu on Pee Wee and he didn't seem to be a very nice person, the only thing good he did was take care of his folks, but that was about it.
