Prime BJ Penn vs current Oliviera

If Bantamweight Frankie Edgar can take him down several times, current Oliveira (not the one who lost to Paul Felder, and other 7 guys) is definitely going to take him down.

Current Oliveira wins this, he improved both his striking and his wrestling a lot, he is a bad match-up for BJ Penn.
They are talking about PRIME BJ PENN. He would be a threat to Olivera. He would get in on the inside and and dirty box with Olivera. His grappling was good enough before that it should be a wash when it comes to grappling between them. Olivera isn't a welterweight, so he wouldn't be able to use his weight to burn out a less motivated BJ Penn. It would be a very competitive fight, both can win but to think BJ Penn has no chance is not a proper analysis of that match up. BJ Penn walked through punches and kicks from bigger fighters that hit harder than Olivera.

BJ Penn mauls him, he's Oliveira but with better boxing, jiu jitsu, and a 100x better chin.

I hated BJ Penn, but the dude was a monster.

The only guys I see beating a prime Penn would be prime Melendez. Guys who have a shot are prime Kawajiri, maybe Aoki, and Gomi if he could land an exchange could put BJ out. Most guys wouldn't be dumb enough to try but Gomi was built different in that era.
Aoki definitely was tailor made for prime BJ. Dude never developed a legit offensive wrestling or striking throughout his career.
