Yeah chick went to take her shot, didn't even touch him and he turned and smacked her cue away. Dude came over and said something to old mates girlfriend? for some reason. Then old mate knocks the guy out. Odd series of events.
 
Looks like the guy in the glasses was trying to verbally confront the meathead and the guys girlfriend stuck her nose into the situation immediately escalating it. Glasses guy presents the palms of his hands signaling ‘look, I don’t want any problems’ and the chicks man assaults him. Hope glasses guy is okay (and his lady friend is a keeper
). Hope meathead is doing hard time (his missus is trouble).

The moral of this story: if you’re going to confront someone in a pool hall be ready to throw the first punch.
 
Beard guy was lining up his shot and the woman picked the wrong time to shoot behind him, right in his line of vision. She should have been more respectful and moved out of the way.

No idea what the other guy said that resulted in him being KOed, but typically if you're courteous in the pool hall, you get the same in return.

Wouldn't fault the nerdy guy with glasses if he came back another night to find the guy with a bat and had a nice discussion in the parking lot.

Yup. She totally set the events in motion.

1. She stepped into bearded guy's space while he's shooting.
2. Bearded guy's girl said something to her about the blatant breach of pool hall etiquette.
3. Nerd guy comes over to gently white knight for his girl by responding to bearded guy's girl.
4. Beard guy instantly morphs into Igor Vovchanchyn.

The End
 
Buddy Holly had a better chance of living through that plane crash back in the day, then the 2 piece the beard served him up with in the pool hall.

Why? WTF? Why are posters in this thread sympathizing with the nerdy guy?

Watch carefully. Everyone is a villain in this drama.

Beard is postured to take his shot. He's clearly first. You can see he even checks over his right shoulder before focusing on his shot to see that he's clear, and the girl behind him isn't in the middle of her own shot. She isn't. Then the girl doesn't respect his space, and lines up her shot, with the drawback for her cue clearly aimed right at him, violating his unofficial pool hall right-o-way. This distracts him, and he sort of nudges her, indicating without speaking, 'Hey, I'm shooting here, figure it out.' Goes right back to his shot, doesn't make a stink about it. After his shot he's so unbothered and disengaged from this he makes some remark with a smile on his face to his friend. He's noticeably surprised later by the commotion he hears coming from behind him when nerdy guy starts running his mouth.

That's because beard's GF felt the need to say something snide to the girl who was rudely inattentive. She escalated it. There was no need for that.

But then fuckwit nerdface comes over, and rather than confronting the male, passive aggressive little bitch that he is, he starts talking shit to the guy's girl, who appears to have simply said something after the girl who went out of turn complained, probably along the lines of, "Shut up, you were being rude, it was his shot."

That's when beard steps in, doesn't take this shit, and overreacts in a spectacular fashion.

An unfortunate symphony of escalation driven by each participant's inconsiderate or disproportionately inappropriate behavior.
 
The hot girl playing pool, going after everyone in the bar, turns me on. No fear at all in her. She's feisty. Clearly the nerd that tried to insert himself in the situation was infatuated by her looks. Probably said something like "shut up you fat bitch" to the other woman without realizing it was Beard's girlfriend. Beard defends his woman by knocking out the nerd.

Rule #33 of bar etiquette: Never verbally (or physically like pinching an ass or something) insult a woman unless you absolutely know her boyfriend/husband is a weakling. Any man is going to defend his woman against insults even if she's a loudmouth bitch.

Also think it's strange how nobody else in the pool hall even reacts. This one could be staged for all we know. Kinda looks like the set up of those fake voyeur porn sites
 
1- Fuck the owner of that pool hall that set up the tables that close together.

2- Plenty of blame to throw around here. No surprise the girls probably escalated the situation but that sucker punch was a ridiculous over reaction. Even if glasses guy said something. And I have a hard time imagining that Poindexter said anything THAT egregious to warrant such a violent attack.

If beard guy caught a charge for that he deserves it. It isn't tough to sucker punch a smaller person who isn't presenting any danger or threat, it is cowardly and wreaks of insecurity and bully behavior. Even if he was initially the person whose space was invaded, that punch was excessively violent and uncalled for.

I guess I am old/old fashioned, but I grew up with the unwritten rule that you don't throw a sucker punch and that you put your hands up and give the other person the option to put their hands up or to disengage. Hitting someone who isn't expecting it is a bitch move.
 
The real winner of the night is who threw it in blondie on the bottom left of the screen at 30seconds
 
Agreed with @Madmick and @jeff7b9 above. Lots of blame to go around.

Although I feel sympathetic towards Nerdy Guy. He basically had to get involved when his girl instigated the situation, then he gets slept.
 
Pool hall is not a great place for a fight to start.

I admit most of the bars/pool halls I was in were not "family friendly ". Guys palm pool balls and use sticks. I've see some people get fucked up bad. A palmed pool ball can do some real damage.
 
I kept getting distracted by how the chick watches Buddy Holly take his last flight. She sees it and just stares for like 5 seconds before she gets upset. Quite the delayed reaction.

Dunno what Buddy Holly was doing, but he seemed to have even less combat ability than he appeared.

I also liked the guy who comes up and blatantly takes beardy's photo over the table.

According to the comments it happened at The Civic Pub in Canberra. Which is described as having 'classic pub food in comfy surrounds' lol.

Buddy Holly suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in hospital for 75 days. Imagine that, you go out on the piss and come home 75 days later.

Not the first guy to pick up the tab for some chick's behaviour
