They were literally warned by NATO and the US to leave almost a week ago. Like i said, Darwin at its finest.

They will stay to try and get footage, but yeah they aren't ready for the situations going on over there. They need escorts and staff that is also capable of fighting if they need to. They need people physical enough to get footage on the front lines. The people they have there will never be able to do that. That's why most of the footage is from civilians and military on the front lines and they are posting it on their social media while CNN and other media is usually reporting far away from everything. But since things are getting worse it's harder for them to travel and not be in the action. Like what happened on that video.

They need a Nightcrawler guy with some training to get them prime footage.

A China/Russia (dominated by China) is actually terrible for the world. Cold War 2.0, nuclear threats, economic war which the west could very well lose. China will continue to trade with everyone, while Russia and EU will destroy each other economically. China will grow like crazy.

Well, that's not true. Looking at the sanctions the isolation is pretty much an illusion.

Many big and important countries like China, India, Iran, Brazil and even Mexico will continue trade.

Only the "western alliance" is united.

Russia is allowing for a green corridor in Ukraine. They don't have to do this. I'm of split mind as to whether or not this is a good thing for Russia strategically or a bad thing.

Downside: more civilians are essentially more hostages. More pressure on Mariupol leaders to surrender. More mouths to feed with limited resources, more gas required to cook, etc. In a way, letting civilians leave loosens the noose.

Upside: once civilians are gone, they can virtually burn everything that stands. Every building, every nook and cranny where a Ukrainian soldier might hide. There is no need anymore for precision guided missiles. Without civilians in the city, there is no incentive for Mariupol leadership to surrender, so assume that they will not. There will need to be a physical invasion of Mariupol.

Obviously this is good for Ukraine from a humanitarian perspective. Militarily this is also good for Ukraine, since the resources they have will be spread amongst fewer mouths. Also, the soldiers are now free to fight to the death, there will be no surrender due to civilian crises, and this forces Russia to engage in an actual battle. That said, they better have underground bunkers and munition systems ready. The moment civilians leave, the city will be erased from the memory of the earth, and they will not survive if they are above ground.

And thats the "problem" with warning shots, if they don't work, you can only escalate. If you don't, people won't take you seriously anymore.

Yeah the issue is, I'm NOT pissed at Russia. This isn't the fault of the 144 million Russian citizens. It's the fault of the dictator there. I have friends from my business that are Russian nationals living here. I care very much about them, and they have family back home. Putin is starting to not allow people to leave. My friends are worried they may not be able to get their families out before their economy collapses.

So stop lecturing and acting like you understand the world, because clearly you have a long way to go on that front.

The US is also a dictatorship.

I find these journalists hilarious. They come in the country to try to creare their western propaganda to turn people against eachother to kill eachother.
But when they are under fire they cry 'stop we are journalists. You can't shoot at us'.
Yet these journalists use their media to kill thousands of people every day.
Sky News was literally the propaganda channel for the war in Iraq. Trying to justify blair invasion to go kill millions of people.

Ya. I wouldn't be doing that shit provoking them if I was a Ukrainian citizen. They have to remember that like half of the Ukraine defense is regular citizens so Russian soldiers need to be wary and someone might turn trigger happy.

This is just propaganda. This is just acting. It's an act by Ukrainian shooters and Sky news. They pre planned this.

Hopefully the Generals remove him. This shut just needs to end. We are playing with fire and both Ukranians and Russians are being hurt.

There is absolutely no reason America and Russia should be enemies at this point. We have to start trying to understand our differences but realizing we have a whole lot in common.

I cannot see the benefit of these sanctions other than encouraging regime change internally. Now that could happen, sanctions probably go away and we move towards cooperation with Russia, but it if that doesn’t work, Russia becomes a pariah state and then what.

These sanctions could lead to wider war, however what valid options are there?

Putin takes the east of Ukraine (and maybe Moldova) and then we have a bloody awful guerilla war in Europe for years. This whole thing is bloody awful and a mess and there are no good options. We all Weill be lucky to get out the other side of this.

Russia is turning into a crypto currency country and economy. They are simply ignoring sanctions with crypto currency.
It doesn't bother them at all. It's their goal to completely get rid of the dollar.
