I'm @ tagging everyone who posted in this thread.

Hey guys. As I have said before I wanted to thank everyone individually but I am overwhelmed by so many wonderful people. I've not been on the forum for close to 10 days now. The funeral is tomorrow. A lot of family is coming back into town.

I've been pretty OK for the most part but it is really sinking in now. I made a slideshow to play at the funeral and man it's the saddest thing ever making a slideshow, with music, for your father who is gone. Seeing pics of him as a baby, a young boy, a teen, a young man coming of age, a new young father with his young wife and babies, and then pics of him into middle age and getting older. It really hits you. You see your life, so to speak, when you see pics like this.

I'd like to thank everyone once again for your support and love. This thread has been great. It's amazing how my brothers and sisters here have come together for my dad, me, and my family.

Oh, I showed the family this thread! They loved it and were laughing pretty hard. They told me to thank everyone so that includes you! I had it on my tablet and was scrolling through the pics and they really loved all of them. I had to scroll real fast past some of them cause... well you know Sherdog Shoopers . Those were probably @BigTruck's or @Buff's haha.

One more thing, I have not been able to answer all of my PM's but I will get back to everyone this weekend or so.

Thank you brother. Oh man it was hard coming up with pics for the slideshow. I am sort of the family historian and I literally have 3 Terabytes of family photos. I had to go through thousand of photos of my dad. I planned on using 60-70 photos but I could only narrow it down to 140 or so. I actually had to make a few collages of 10 photos to narrow it down to 105. It is all done and finished. I bought a bunch of USB sticks to give everyone and those are already made and ready to go. Besides the shoops are of Frank Mir and while a lot of the family is in on the fact that Mir represents my dad, a lot of the family would have no clue.

Yea man I will be back at it soon. We got the final round of ISL 9 UFC 261: Usman vs. Masvidal 2 Apr 24, 2021. I havent really been shooping or Photoshopping much but I made this for when my dad got Covid in the hospital in December. Man it feels like yesterday.

I lost my father over a decade ago. Things will never be the same but in time you'll be able to focus on the good times rather than be in your mourning phase. One day you'll wake up and it'll transition. Either way, positive thoughts your way man. Try as best you can to recall the good times and think of all the things you did together. It might make you upset now, but those the most important things as you recover to the best of your ability.

Wow that’s crazy. I dont think my entire family has a thousand photos all combined lol.

I've been pretty OK for the most part but it is really sinking in now. I made a slideshow to play at the funeral and man it's the saddest thing ever making a slideshow, with music, for your father who is gone. Seeing pics of him as a baby, a young boy, a teen, a young man coming of age, a new young father with his young wife and babies, and then pics of him into middle age and getting older. It really hits you. You see your life, so to speak, when you see pics like this.

Hey guys. As I have said before I wanted to thank everyone individually but I am overwhelmed by so many wonderful people. I've not been on the forum for close to 10 days now. The funeral is tomorrow. A lot of family is coming back into town.

Your Dad would be very proud that he had a son who could put together such an amazing montage/send off, as we all have no doubt it will be. The emotions of going over his life would be a very soul defining moment for you. Stay strong amigo.

Thanks bro. It should be grand as far as funerals go. He will have the militaty honors and the rifle salute. My sister gets the flag. Yea the 3TB are the ones that are scanned. And to top it off, they are mainly low resolution. My dad has thousands of other printed photos that still need to be scanned.

I lost my father over a decade ago. Things will never be the same but in time you'll be able to focus on the good times rather than be in your mourning phase. One day you'll wake up and it'll transition. Either way, positive thoughts your way man. Try as best you can to recall the good times and think of all the things you did together. It might make you upset now, but those the most important things as you recover to the best of your ability.

Family funerals are nobody’s idea of fun. However, it is worth noting that there are two very distinct kinds: Funerals with bitter tears, filled with anger, where people did not like the person; & funerals with sad tears, filled with Love, where everyone misses the person. It sounds like your pops earned himself the latter. And that’s a huge credit to him.
