if you're a fan of the sport, and you care about people being treated fairly, you should care about fighter pay.

I just want Violence

God damn brainwashing or willful ignorance at its finest.

Yes and no. I'm always happy when I see any person get a raise at any job they're dedicated to. But I've never not watched a card or anything because I didn't like what people were making.

People look you are the problem in this world man

You only care about yourself . When people complain about prices you say yea sucks for you . (You still buy it)
When people complain about their problems you say I don't care.

But everything effects everyone. And it's good people who need to stick together for this world to be right.

When you get hit down or something comes up in you're life that matters you'll want to tell someone and be real upset when they say good..go kill youreself (karma)

Do I think they need to be paid higher definitely 12k is pretty low do I think people should be earning 500k a fight idk that's 1.5m a year prolly netting 800k after expenses taxes or more.. when I see guys fighting and getting millions it's kind of crazy

Def pay the lower class professionals a professional athletes wage.

If you care about the sport, you care about fighter pay. If you're a trashy inbred moron who just wants sloppy brawls and big knockouts without caring about the level of talent, technique and competition then whatever...go drink Mountain Dew. The better pay the athletes get, the better rights, the better sponsors, the better TV/streaming deals (where they actually get a % of it etc) will lead to a better sport, better fighters, deeper divisions, more global appeal and prevalence, healthier fighters etc. And ultimately it will lead to cooler shit happening too.

If you cannot establish a point without insulting dissenting views, you commit fallacy, which instantly invalidates your point, and also has been universally recognized as the tool of the fool for over 2000 years.

Sucks to be you.

Also, if you get locked in a room with UFC and a fighter, and you squall your schtick, and UFC tells the fighter that the fighter has to either give up his contract or force you change your tune, that fighter is going to fuck you up real bad. The point in this oft-repeated exercise is that the fighter doesn't want your interference, and the fighter will gladly choose hurting you over giving up his UFC contract.

It's a fun mental exercise. I have repeated it here often. Think it through. You get fucked up every time.

Why do socialists always think other people need their help?

You ain't got no money-making fight contract.
Why do you want to poke your nose into someone else's money-making contract?
What, you are smarter than them?

Then why is everything so much lamer now than it was a decade ago? The money didn’t help.

I don't care. :)

I'd care if fighters were doing something noble for humanity with their money. But they just spend it in themselves usually, barring a few exceptions like Dustin.

Why the living fuck would I care about fighter pay when there's people like teachers who are ridiculously underpaid for actually securing a future for humanity, and workers in the developing world, who live in shambles and suffering?

The problem is not that fighters are underpaid, it's that entertainers are obscenely overpaid relative to the rest of the population. $12,000 dollar minimum with $12000 to win, with 3 fights a year guaranteed seems like a good beginning opportunity and base. $36k minimum, if one loses the three fights.

Someone did point out that the current pay structure is partially responsible for the Dagestani invasion. Like the guys there realise they can train for a while, get a UFC/whatever spot, show up and smesh, then go home with say $20-30k and live large. i.e., in certain places the money is attractive enough that it attracts talent from there.

Problem is that it doesn't go as far in the West, so suddenly the 17yo next GSP does the math and realises if he follows his dreams to get hit in the head for a living he's barely going to scrape by for the rest of his life (and goes and becomes an accountant instead).

Pretty loose with the details here but you get what I'm saying - if you want a global talent pool you need to make it a viable career for fighters no matter where they come from.

Exactly all of this, which is why it's pretty stupid when people are like LOL STFU WHO CARES. Like, if you want to watch good fights then you need good fighters, and to get good fighters you need to pay them their worth.
