Objective for Today: Conditioning
- 2 three minute rounds of Bas Rutton's Boxing CD
- 2 three minute rounds of Bas Rutton's Thai Boxing CD
- 1 three minute round of Bas Rutton's All-Round Fighting CD
- 1 three minute round of Bas Rutton's All-Round Workout CD
Note: Bas kicked my ass tonight. I originally thought I'd go 2 three minute rounds on all CDs. That would put me at a nice 32 minute workout. I'd then do the speed bag, jump rope, and finish with bodyweight exercises to round out an hour.
However, by the time I hit the All-Round Fighting CD, I was pretty much toast. I was dripping in sweat. I only made it 24 minutes.
Bas kept yelling out 'defense' and it wore me to a pulp.
I thought I was in pretty good condition, but obviously my engine could use some improvement.
While my aerobic endurance is pretty decent, my anaerobic conditioning could use some help. I'm thinking of dropping the gym membership, and sticking to just BJJ, yoga, and fight conditioning I can do it in my man cave (aka, the garage). It would save some money, and the real obstacle in getting to my goal weight is my eating habits.
Speaking of eating habits, my diet sucked today. It was the first day back from our vacation, and work was a bitch. I stress ate crap the whole day. I'll get back on track tomorrow.
Diet is the real obstacle for all of us. At least all of us over 30 or 40+. Don't believe me. You'll see . . .
