fun fact. Alison Moyet & Vince Clarke recorded this track separately, music first, song added later. Then it became a hit and they were asked to perform it on stage on the top of the pop TV show. When the curtain went up they both suddenly realised they never actually played it together even in rehersal (according to Moyet in a documentary a few years ago)
