I remember seeing a stand up comedian do a bit talking about how no one really likes U2, but society in general feels like they have to pretend to like them for some reason. I find that to be a pretty accurate take. Their music is definitely boring as hell.

I think Bon Jovi is actually among the all time most underrated bands when it comes to songwriting and arrangement. They kind of ran out of material and things to say at least a decade ago but they had a good run and the albums for their first ten years at least all have some underappreciated lyrics...in addition to a lead guitarist who would have been the lead vocalist in any other band but Queen.
