Wearing masks to avoid spreading your illnesses, kind of like they do in multiple countries in Asia every year?

I could get behind that, it's a good idea. I didn't get so much as a cold through the whole of winter.

Can confirm. I dont go outside without a mask and dont get close to people and havent had a cold or anything like it so far

I think im going to continue wearing masks, they should make them mandatory for sporting events and concerts. even if they get covid in check at sporting events or places with large gatherings it helps prevent the flu at least.

Source?

yeah the flu is basically non existent right now with the mandatory mask wearing, the issue with covid is that its super tiny that it can go through masks thats why so many people are getting covid. so say covid becomes less of a threat at least with mask wearing it can prevent Flu and colds.

I hate being around people who are coughing as well especially at buffets and casinos, also mandatory temperature checks as well to avoid people who are sick spreading germs. And also make sure to check their pockets for tylenol, advil, ibuprofen, etc so they dont beat the temp tests by popping tylenols.

I don't know, there's barely a person in this entire country with the commie cough. Thankfully we shut that shit down.

Yah, for living on a giant ass island.

Flu can go through masks too but it’s thought to be a bit less transmissible and we have partial defense as well since most people have caught different flu strains before.

Flu cases may be down, but suggesting one reason for it, seems abrupt. Because there are multiple possibilities to consider:
* people less likely to get tested when they're sick compared to other years
* masks as you suggest
* social distance
* flu cases being reported as covid
* people not going outside
* increased awareness of hygiene

Probably other changes have occurred that could have also impacted these numbers.

You want to have mandatory temperature checks of people and also stop and frisks for medication just in case you suspect their temperature is above normal... I wonder if there will be a point where the 2018 flu risks that didn't bother most people that much will be better than such measures as they get layered one on top of another.

States won’t be able to enforce those things once the pandemic is over. I expect the mask fad to sadly continue for a little while past the point of necessity by trend(some sub 5 girls actually look better with them on) but it will gradually fade out once mass gatherings become a norm again,

“Now we need to make sure we don’t get common colds and flus ever again!!”...lol, it’s remarkable how much some people have enjoyed this from the very beginning,

not going to happen

I was only talking to someone the other day about how the flu has just disappeared.

It just goes to show how disgusting we actually were before. Close contact, crowds, touching stuff, not sanitizing, breathing on each other etc.

Is it any wonder every season everyone got the flu? Lol

Thank you for your reasonable post, bud. Always a great thing to see. Shame that they're so rare on SD.

all i know is post covid if anybody walks up to me sniffing and sneezing without a mask on im filling the room with uppercuts.

You have to wonder how can things ever go back to how they were? Crowded bars, shoulder to shoulder in restaurants, theatres, queues etc.

Like the sneezing thing, in the old days someone would come into work with a cold and we would all make a joke 'Oh, don't come near me with that, I can't afford to be ill' and all laugh. But now it's different, people will take it seriously.

Shaking hands, sharing food, pick a mix, buffets etc. I can see much of our culture hanging tbh.

Its the new normal brother, we gotta do what we gotta do, it is what it is. gotta make sure some sick foo ain't trying to sneak into the casino or grocery store to spread their viruses.
