In a P4P all things equal sense, GSP all day. But in reality, the size difference would make it too difficult for GSP to close the distance with his jab or takedowns. Against other MWs, GSP could make this up with speed, but since Izzy has speed as well, too much works against GSP.

I'll guess Izzy can stuff the takedowns and pick him apart over time. We obviously can't know. Best practices on getting back to your feet have improved greatly since then. If we are talking a hypothetical where both trained and became prime in the same era, then that is something entirely different.

Izzy would have a bigger height/reach advantage than anyone GSP ever faced, is a far more skilled striker than anyone GSP ever faced, and is pretty good at nullifying wrestling. As great as GSP was, he'd have a really tough time trying to find a way to beat Izzy. He probably just gets picked apart for 5 rounds on the feet.

I think GSP could have wrestled and controlled Izzy on the ground even with the size difference. His ground game is just miles ahead.

As much as I love GSP, that's a tough one, it's just such a massive size difference... GSP really has the frame of a 155er IMO

If GSP beat Izzy it would be the most impressive win in MMA history probably IMO... GSP is about the same size as Khabib, imagine if Khabib beat Izzy, pretty hard to imagine
