They opened up less than two years ago. I almost checked that place out due to confusion. Their gimmick almost got my ass, but:

I always thought that the 2008 recession slowed down the motorcycle market. It put a lot of dealerships out of business. I would imagine it hurt the bike market even more for $30k+++ motorcycles

The guys who grew up rider or wanting to ride is aging out. You see this in so many hobbies where something will take off when a group comes of age to have disposable income and then when they retire, everything drops off. In the next few years, $5-10k gaming rigs and tv setups are not going to be as uncommon just because you have guys hitting their 40s and 50s that always wanted high end shit. You have other stuff like golf that is falling off a cliff because young people don't golf.

This is the correct motorcycle. It was a Boomer fad that burned out and faded away. They don't have disposable income to blow on stupid bikes, and the younger generations don't want to be Dennis Hopper, although maybe they should.

That dude Jesse James was married to Sandra Bullock and decided to ruin that marriage by cheating on her with a porn star. What an idiot.

And those shows sucked ass.

I thought it was the other way around? She stole him from this pornstar. Bullock even took her kids?

naw. He started cheating on Sandra with that Nazi chick with the tattoo.

living the American dream
just bing'd him married two pornstars and Sandra Bullock was between them

Sandra must have a wild side

Side note: his kid used to play ball with my kid. His son switched schools this year. Damn shame. Son is a wrestler too.

Side note two: Used to work with a guy whose brother won around $80 million in the Texas lottery. One of his many toys was an $80k Orange County Chopper. Beautiful bike.

West coast choppers used to be here in long beach on Anaheim st. I would see a lot of the crazy stuff from monster garage rolling down Anaheim and jesse himself.

I haven't seen any of his most recent custom work, but back in the day, his El Diablo II motorcycle design was dope af.

He was married to a pornstar before Sandra.

I think that gate was across the street he also owned that building it turned into a homeless food distribution place now which sort of sucks for us normies in that area because it attracts a ton of homeless doing drugs they leave needles and narcan boxes on the ground. Meth pipes too.

I remember really enjoying watching the show with my brother and my old man. It was cheesy as hell but fun.

Definitely feel like the motorcycle enthusiast crowd has aged out recently and the people who would have bought those are now too old or looking for a more comfortable ride.

Majority of the bikes they built were theme, display, or show bikes, not practical at all. One show I saw pitted two builders against each other, they had to build a bike and ride it a certain distance to the judging location. The one guy was from North Carolina and built a bike that could get down the road like a boss traveling near 100 mph easily, other guy built a show bike that couldn't go over 65 mph and had to take several stops.
They arrive at the judging location, well don't you know the public was swooned by the appearance of the show bike. Show bike dude wins the competition, I was shocked, but not that shocked realizing the majority of people don't understand what they are judging. The shows started to fall off not long after that, it was a good run.

I always respected their ingenuity, creativity and craftsmanship.

A lot of those shows were on the History channel, weren't they?

I'm guessing that when a lot of people started dropping cable, the audience/exposure for those shows dropped. I remember them being something I'd stop and watch if I was channel surfing, as one does with cable, but not something I'd specifically seek out to watch.
