Seems weird that fans DON’T want fighters to get paid more.

Why does it bother them when people make threads about increasing fighter pay? Its not out if their pocket.

are they ufc shills?

do they just want UFC to be in control and dont want fighters being bigger than the brand?

I know you guys are out there. Explain yourselves.

Many of us live in a free country where you get paid the market value; it is called capitalism. It is not perfect but the pros greatly outweigh the cons. A lot of people resent rich people and claim Capitalism is unjust. Many young folks believe Socialism is a better system, share the wealth equally..... others understand that Socialism sounds great in theory but has never worked and never will.

Bottom line...fighter pay should increase and it is increasing....significantly. If you feel fighter pay is unfair, research why Strikeforce failed. Strikeforce committed big $ into contracts with Fedor, Henderson, "Bigfoot" Silva, Arlovski, Barnett and others. The PPV #'s did not cover the fighters cost and the company went to shit.

Because some of us lived through the decline of professional boxing, including Dana. That's the answer.

It's not that we don't want fighters making more, it's just an annoying topic and feels like a red herring.

If you don't want to be punched in the face for 3k + 3k, get a better agent or teach Bjj for a living. Even better be entertaining and get eyeballs on you.

It's show business without the show there's no business.

I think you're all mostly full of shit. You pretend like you give a fuck about fighter pay while never once purchasing a PPV or paying for their products.

UFC is making record profits and fighter pay has barely increased. There's no correlation to PPV buys helping anyone other than the few fighters who get PPV points

I don't think anyone has said that they don't want fighters to make more. I don't care how much they make. They can make as much as they want and it doesn't affect me. But, I also don't want to hear guys whining and complaining about pay when they already make more in one fight than the average Joe makes in a year. And they only fight once or twice a year. Everyone thinks they deserve more, but most don't think they need to actually earn it. It's been proven that if you are good and you are a draw that you can make a lot money on the UFC. Most of the guys complaining about pay are just envious of others and have unrealistic expectations.

Why does the MMA community care more about fighters getting paid more than the fighters? None of them take a stand so why do you care? Izzy cried how fighter pay is low then resigned a contract and got all quiet. Masvidal got paid more than his skills then cried shortly after about fighter pay. Ngnannou is the only sort of example of "sticking it to the man" but that's only because he thinks he's fighting Fury which would make more money and pay more than any UFC fight. His whole "fighting for the fighters" is BS. He purposefully asked for things that would never happen and acted like he left because the UFC wouldn't improve fighters lives. "Give everyone health insurance" like he brings in enough money to equal 9 figures which is what it would cost to do that. Sure it would be nice if they got paid more but I'm not going to be out here crying for people who just cry about their pay and sign new contracts.

because they are unhappy with their own financial situation

It's not that fans don't want fighters to get paid more. Most fans don't even give a shit what fighters get paid. What they want to see are fights.

So when fights get pushed back or don't happen because of negotiation issues or because a fighter wants to get paid more, it upsets the fan.
