because in japan martial arts is not about money but honor
and if they make a bad boxing gear it is dishonorable so then they have to do sepuku which goes back to the samurai tradition in japan

This is hilarious, the guy didn't buy the box as the auction was still up there when I last checked (not up anymore for now), but I'm pretty sure the auctioneer was trying to get some fast cash over a poor fanboy.
