Would a 248 lb 6'4" Volkanovski or Islam beat HW Jones?

I was a white belt not long ago. It's all good.
You have to ask yourself. How long are their arms? Jones has a very long reach.

Uhh yes
Lower divisions are much more skilled

LHW sucks.
HW is practically a meme

He wasn't 248 but prime Dominick Reyes was LHW Volkanovski.

Islam yes, Volk no.

Islam's wrestling technique would still translate well as a HW, but Volk wouldn't be able to keep up his style of striking at HW.

This is the flaw of P4P talk, because lighter fighters will almost always look better technically because they are faster, more agile, and have stamina for days. The body just can't move like that at HW. And the few outliers that can can't keep that pace for long.

DC couldn't do shit to Jones
Better grappler than Islam
Volk is somewhat similar to Jones
But no

False. Go look at kickboxing and boxing heavyweights. They can maintain a high pace. Don't compare some UFC HWs and think it's like that across the board in combat sports.

P4P isn’t real anyway

The context of MMA changes this though because the training is different. I imagine the pace can be sustained better for heavier fighters because of more dedicated training. And even then it's going to hard to find boxing HWs that move like their lighter counterparts. Maybe Tyson?

yes. heavyweight is a joke. Gane and nganou with months worth of grappling experience are championship level fighters lol
