I tried to fight hiim after the show, but he wasn't interested, but now I"m the bigger name, I love the match up, I will press forward and take no steps back

Excited to get a win out here, first time in Europe, get my hand raised, I will get that finish, put the greatest performance of my life

I chose the Poland card, I love to fight, that's why I took it, it will be fun, he'll fade second, 3rd round, I will be victorious, I have the cardio advantage, I get stronger, in the staredown, I told him to calm down, hopefully he doesn't get a big adrenaline dump

I love Alvey but I think he is an overachiever. I know that is a stupid statement when someone talks about a guy with 41 fights but none of his 8 UFC wins impresses me.

He beat a bunch of low tiers MWs and two incredible shot and gunshy Rashad and Marquardt.

I really like Smiley Sam but I would fade him against any decent fighter.

Bro, it’s so weird, as I said, he’s probably the most limited fighter what it comes to technical ability and athleticism on the UFC roster, yet somehow he continues to find success. At some point you have to give him some sort of credit. I mean, sure, despite visually looking totally beatable by any UFC fighter with a beating heart he’s ran off 5 of his last 6 inside the octagon. Moreover he was incredibly successful before coming to the UFC. In many aspects he is the striking version of a Dan Kelly, or almost a Jake Shields/Dan Kelly bizarro world hybrid fighter that looks like Glass Joe but fights like Soda Popinski. (look it up kids lol)

Yea, somehow he keeps notching wins even as fighters and opponents alike scratch their heads in utter disbelief.

I have faded Sam in almost all of his fights and maybe it’s because I’ve lost a lot of money doing so that I am so generous in my capping this fight. Perhaps, I’m giving him more credit than he deserves.

The thing is though, he forces his opposition into fighting incredibly terrible fights. Often noncommittal ugly staring contests until he can uncork something. In a lot of ways he is like what we have seen with Volkan lately. Aesthetically he looks like he’s going to get ran over but if he can put a glove on you you’re getting a free nap. What worries me is that the Russian gets hit too much and is staggered by the left-hand repeatedly. I also envision Emeev becoming a welterweight soon as he is on the smaller side of the 185 pounds division. This could make it difficult for him in grappling exchanges.

Now that but I have went and read the interviews of Sam struggling to make weight and being over 226 pounds 10 days ago, then needing to drop all that weight while traveling across the Atlantic, I do think that Emeev is probably is the rightful play. I’m going to put something on his decision line and then hedge with Sam x knock out.

Did you do that write-up? Because the writing and analysis are excellent. The latter probably because I agree with it 100% but the former is just objectively good.

Got any more of these? lol

Thanks buddy, yeah I did the write up. Is there a specific contest you’re wanting broken down? I’ll try and make time and get it in.

10 days notice, I love fighting, this is going to be a tough weight cut, my weight was much higher than normally, I'm here to finish

I think I was the better fighter, but I got caught, not rush in on a takedown, why didn't I keep it standing, I should have kept it standing, I don't like flying, 6 hour time difference, my dad is going to be in my corner, I have to be gritty and bring the meanness that brought me to the big show, more aggressive, I think I can take him out of the feet

I'm too strong, too powerful, I'm more intelligent, I know I will beat him, I don't care if he wants to be my friend, I'm going in there to take him out, in the striking department I know what I'm doing, I will try to knock his face off, he'll be out by the second round, I will take him clean out, make my name

Man I know the Fili is inconsistent, but I think a lot of people are making way too much out of his interview as they play amateur psychologist. To me nothing sounded really out of the ordinary whatsoever, in fact I got the impression that he was working to bounce back and make a statement. He said at the end of the interview that he had been doing interviews for two hours straight and had hardly had any sleep and felt delirious. ... so that’s another reason not to take much from his conversation. He was also talking about working his way back up the top. That he thinks he is the best in the division. That to me is not talk of someone who has packed it in.

Been training for 5 rounds for years, I'll hurt him on the feet, he'll try to take me down and he won't be able too, and I will finish the fight whenever I want

I put more sparring in, more meanness, spar once a week, full time switch at Long Island MMA, LaFlare's gym, higher level guys and more structured, I'm not a big 135er, I'm disciplined all year round, I'm in the sport to be the best, at the top, the loss motivated me

Been dieing to get my hands on him, I told the UFC, they can do buy 1 get one free, I told them they only have to pay me for 1 fight and I'd fight for free the next one as long as they keep me busy, I love to fight, hands are sharper, I sparred alot this camp, 4 times a week

The time change, wow, up all night, sleep all day, it's crazy, go out there and give it hell, I hope he really prepared, I will take him down, get him tired and submit him, if he scrambles, I'll knock him out

Just saw a vid with Megan Anderson breaking down this card, she mentions Till being stabbed twice in the back at a party in 2012, and it almost hitting a major artery. Don't think it will affect the fight in the slightest, but I guess it's good to know.

Not any ground-breaking insight, but they're pretty fun to watch. Kinda weird though that they're saying Cerrone is not just a striker..... well, duh.

Sam probably runs a 6.5 40 has a 10 inch vertical and would struggle doing 10 jumping jacks

And he still keeps knocking fools out.

I stopped betting against him after losing like 4-5 bets that were made basically pointing out how non athletic he is

I hope he keeps on ko ing fools

Yeah I'd be more concerned if he actually won his last fight and then said, for no apparent reason, that he became unmotivated and didn't enjoy fighting anymore. People come up with a lot of excuses and reasons why they might have lost the previous fight. They do this expost facto and it's hard to take at face value. It's also a media interview so they are going to protect their ego and their brand. Nobody is going to say they came in 100% and motivated and then lost in a lackluster performance. In some senses, someone that actually did care a lot would convince themselves that they did have room to try harder the next time.

Not saying this is actually what's going on with Fili but the above is just another likely explanation for his comments. Unless we were actually around the guy and got to see how motivated/unmotivated he was in the past few months, it's really impossible to know.

Honestly. What would stop Lobov from doing exactly what Kattar did to him? I mean Kattar just basically threw hard shots at Fili when in the pocket.

Lobov may not have big power. But I have a feeling Lobov is gonna hit Fili with the same type of shots. And if he does is Fili gonna kinda fall apart again.

Lobov also does seem to be improving also.

Did you rewatch Kattar vs Fili? Cause this is such an easy question to answer. Kattar could match the reach and he did not just throw hard shots in the pocket. He actually did the exact opposite and shut Fili down with well timed and technical 1-2s for majority of the fight. Lobov is at severe reach disadvantage and has never had a jab. He has a left straight and hooks in the pocket. Also worth mentioning Kattar was not as flat footed with his pressure either.

I just watched it. Kattar would rip him any time Fili would get inside then back out. He was cracking Fili at the same distance that Lobov was cracking Swanson. Lobov can close distance quickly with his speed. And he's tough enough to eat a few from Fili to return fire with a shot that will at least look a lot harder than the shots Fili is landing.

Also the Swanson fight was super high paced and Lobov hung tough and increased his output from previous fights.

Imo this could be a case of Lobov just landing the harder shots and inflicting more damage
