Bellator 198 - Fedor vs Mir - Rosemont Illinois

Just quick watched weigh in, and Mir actually looks a bit leaner and in better shape than his last few UFC fights. 261.5 so he's still a big HW, but to my eyes he looked noticeably less dadbod-like. Did not expect that...

After watching weigh-ins & the Countdown show and seeing how good Mir looked in shape compared to Fedor: Frank Mir (-137) vs Fedor Emelianenko $685.00 for $500.00

I'm seriously kinda stunned. I assumed Mir would make weight obviously but from this in Jan:

Mir has obviously been very dedicated with diet and training the last 3 months if nothing else. Seems like he's not just showing up for a paycheck.
 
That's the ideal Fedor body. You may not like it, but that's what peak performance looks like.

He's heavier bro. 4 lbs heavier than vs Mitrione. 7 lbs heavier than most of his prime years (for example he was 233 vs Cro Cop in 2005).

Age plays a factor, but 4 lbs heavier than just last year...IDK. He evidently also had bursitis in his knee during his camp which limited his road work.

Personally, since I think there's a good chance it ends quickly, it may not matter at all. But I think Fedor is a shade or two heavier than his optimal weight. Even at his age.

But...685$ is a lot for this Bellator shit show that can go either way....I was on Rampage and you were a loooooot bigger on him and look what happened there.

It's a reference to an old joke. I honestly rate Fedor's recent wins over Mir's, too. Bigfooot's like 1-9 since he got deprived his chemicals, and the Duffee KO might be the all-time low light of Men's MMA striking.

I think those pics were misleading, there was a sideways pic of them both at the weigh ins last night and if they both had t shirts on they would both look really fat, hw's stomachs seem to protrude more as they get older.

I think your right about the line though, i expected a bit more money being bet but ppl seem hesitant, their names aren't as big a draw as they used to be i guess.
after mir drifted so much from his opening line it seemed a good spot to bet him @ 1.8 in anticipation of it shortening a little as interest in fedor's ml slowed and the lines became more stagnant, mir has shortened a little but not really enough to freeroll due to the juice books take from the lines. worst case now i can get my stake back for a tiny loss but I'll likely leave at least 1u on his ML, still a chance late money can push his line down.

anyone know how many hours till bellator main card starts? time zones are confusing the hell out of me

Another reason i thought ppl would bet mir more lol, fedor's been able to juice for most of his career (not saying he has but he could of..) mir hasnt been able to juice for his last couple fights.

Yeah me to. I'm passing on this fight or some serious line movement needs to happen in the next couple hours. I hate betting on these old dudes in Bellator, last time it cost me when I bet Rampage against Sonnen. I'm also not so sure of the under 1.5 so I'm just going to enjoy the show and not mind the outcome, can be nice for a change.

Fedor's recent wins? He has one real win in the last 5 years+ and it was Jaideep Singh who is 2-3. You serious?

plus from 304 to 261 in 3 months...yeah fat is easy to lose but less so at 40...

imo, all the 40 pound weight loss proves is that mir is not coming for a paycheck. i think whoever lands first is going to win this fight. both have very bad punch resistance at this point
