UFC 236 Holloway vs Poirier 2

lol look at this goofy fuck they brought in for Costa, coming in with his hands down at his sides completely oblivious to the idea of trying to protect himself...

Didn't read the thread. Let me guess. You guys are talking about Andre Soukhamthath. The guy has good striking and if I remember correctly Andre was winning his match vs Sean O'Malley. But just horrible fight IQ. Just awful!
Nope Andre was losing The whole fight until Sean injured himself in The 3rd round and was jumping on one leg Ala karate kid .

Am I a dumbass if I play Krylov? I know some people consider him a flake, and I know he lost the first fight but I'm not exactly impressed by OSP's overall body of work since that win... He's got a lot of mileage on him, and I believe Krylov is 7 or 8 years younger, he's still only 27, somehow.
I am with you man. I think OSP is done, he has been rocked in all of his last 3 fights and Krylov is a decent striker with a lot of finishes in his resume. OSP has to land on top of Krylov and sub him to win this, but his takedowns have never been very good. He has landed only 2 in his last 6 fights and 1 of them was on Rogerio De Lima. I didnt watch Nikita`s last fights outside of UFC, but the guys he finished are not absolute bums and he obviously is levels above them.
2u @1.90 for me

I don't think that we will. He rolled under and with punches even against Max on Dana's show instead of what he did in that gif, going straight back with his hands not protecting his chin.

I'm glad someone saw the raw ingredients Turner possesses and started to hone them together. Was definitely a very crude fighter early but he's progressing rapidly in my opinion. I also hear that SD loss his has was a robbery, need to see it for myself though...

That fight was a clear 29-28 loss for Jalin, his opponent had about 9 minutes of top control within the first 2 rounds then gassed and lost rd3.

LOL @ Full send university shirt. Reppin' Nelk.

Davis at evens seems decent, but I didn't go too heavy. I remember fading Staropoli in his debut because he looked like trash on youtube, but he came out looking like a kickboxing world champion. That one hurt.

To be fair, there's looking shit, and then there's Costa who averages a headkick attempt once every 11 seconds.

Decided that trying to pick a side in Krylov-OSP is kinda pointless when we've got the unders.

Krylov has never been to a decision and only been to a third round once in his 30 pro fights. In all likelihood we get another OSP sub or Krylov KO relatively early. FDGTD is around -280 which is a bit steep but Fight Doesn't Start Round 3 at around -160 is clear value imo.

Any of you gentlemen have a good read on Soukamthath/Jackson? Souk has never been stopped I believe, is his chin good enough to withstand three rounds with Jackson?
I feel like souk doesn't have a well structured game in contrast to Jackson who does. Although we only have a small sample size for Jackson, he has shown that he can flow techniques together successfully. I feel like souk can go 3 but I also wouldn't be surprised to see I'll advised takedowns that see him caught in choke

omalley beat him very comfortably aside from the leg Injury in third round.

No he didn't, Hector Aldana is just abysmal. Staropoli loses against any UFC calibre competition

Why do you think brawling is Dustin's path to victory?

I didn't say brawling is DP's path to victory.

DP is better everywhere, except maybe technical boxing. DP has has insurance in making it a brawl with the threat of a TD and Max has pillow fists. I believe DP moves forward too.

Agreed, but based on the footage of Staropoli that was available at that time, he didn't warrant opening as -300 favorite. He looked around the skill level of Aldana, which is terrible. That's why Aldana went from +240 to -120.

When you guys watch tape, which fights do you watch on each fighter? Do you pick and choose or do like the last 5 fights or so? Any input is appreciated.
I do the last 4-5 fights, I play it loose and try to watch more fights if all of the recent ones are too similar in some way (too short, only against grapplers, only against strikers, etc). If a fighter is on a losing streak I make sure to watch the last fight or two he won as well, and I do the reverse for a fighter on a winning streak. I have an awful memory concerning most UFC journeymen so I end up rewatching tape on the same people all the damned time lol

If you
A) know that Sean O'Malley got visibly injured and Soukhamthath failed to take advantage
B) think that Souk was winning
C) know that the fight went to decision
how exactly do you think Sean won?

Nice find sir. I'll be having some of that too, especially at -160...

So this goof Brandon Davis is facing was 4-0 as an amateur with 4 first round stoppages? I just watched the four fights of his I could find and it literally looks like they were picking this guys opponents out of the stands. Dire, dire shit.

Fastest tape research ever, I think he seriously only had a minute or two total spent in the cage over the course of those four fights... And he absolutely looks like one of those guys who goes balls to the walls and blows their wad in the first.

Ander's so clumsy and in my eyes very cast to catch clean... is there any reason the fast and heavy hands of Rountree won't find Ander's chin early?

Anders/Rountree doesn't go the distance is -190. Not thrilled at the number but I'm really feeling a stoppage, both have serious defensive issues and big power.
